  1. I just had my first primer "incident" after loading an unknown number of rounds over the past 5 or 6 years. I really didn't think that the whole stack would go off when they are separated by the disk on the 650. well, one got crushed when i went to seat it, it lit off the 6 or 8 in the disk, and then lit off the whole stack, shooting the plastic rod and a few primers into the ceiling. no fun. Dillon of course is covering everything but my fruit of the looms. thats what the rep said when I called!
  2. That auction was for a mag loader. I'm looking for a tool or machine to actually refill the empty stripper clips.
  3. Looking to see if anyone knows where to get, or if one even exists, a tool to actually fill the stripper clips after making the rounds on a reloading press. Seems like something simple enough, but couldn't find anything.
  4. Its a great victory for us, but it is really sad that something as clear as "shall not be infringed" needed to be decided by the supreme court.
  5. I started loading with a lee because it was cheap. IT was a miserable experience. Constantly needed adjusting and tinkering. I do that all day with the machines at work. not in the mood to do it when i want to load ammo. Hornady machine looked good, but everyone at my local club said Dillon. I bought a used 650, even though they the guys at the club swore by the SBD and 550. I have never regretted it. sure it costs more up front, but you absolutely get what you pay for. my machine was used when i got it, and I just recently found out that it was a first generation machine. it still runs fine after countless rounds being made.
  6. Which means that putting the bullet in the case and seating it are 2 different stations? as far as i know, the only machine that inserts and seats at the same station is the GSI feeder.
  7. Bullets should be tight even without the crimp. somethings up.
  8. I prefer PayPal. in this day and age, there is no reason to have to wait for your money. And if there is a problem, PayPal will get your money back faster than any other service. So what if they are anti gun. I'm anti union, but i still buy cars and pay my taxes. Unless you are blatantly obvious in your money transfers with PayPal, how would they even know what it's for? Postal Money orders are my 2nd choice, mainly because they can be cashed at the post office. But having to go the the PO, wait in line, ect, ect, especially when you are doing it on your lunch break and need to get back to work, not fun. not to mention that it adds several days to a transaction.
  9. Can you elaborate? Doesn't the series 80 colt have something similar? I know berettas do. I personally think that it's a half way decent idea, and the way kimber actuates it with the grip is better than the trigger. . . But I don't have any first hand knowledge of any failures. not trying to pick a fight, just curious.
  10. How are you modding them? I would very much like to up the capacity on mine. Thanks. There is a limiter on the bottom of the follower. It also holds the spring. take the mag apart and trim that down.
  11. pardon my ignorance, but what's wrong with the kimber style firing pin safety? or is it just kimbers in general on this board?
  12. I am using his dropper for 223 on my dillon 650. The M die should be part of the kit. It wont work without that extra little bit of belling. I am using the same bullets as you. Without the m die, they would just fall out when the shell plate indexed. i suppose the swage rod on the 1050 would work as well. I don't have one, so cant say from experience.
  13. you can also buy the conversion kit for around $300 if you have a single stack 1911. Mine runs very well with the right lube. Mags can be easily modded to hold 15 rounds
  14. I just get a friend or my GF to load primer tubes while I crank the handle. They refill everything when the primer alarm goes off.
  15. gotta be an april fools prank
  16. NYC really isn't that bad. If you are staying close to the touristy areas, just keep your wallet in your front pocket

Well that sums it up. Thanks Guys I guess its a good old Italian made 92 fs for me. The Italian ones are supposed to be slightly better than the USA ones anyway, right?

Been looking for a Beretta M9A1. Local dealer said he has had them on order, but has no idea when they will arrive. his Beretta rep said the same thing. have any of you seen this gun in person outside of the marine corps?
  19. I was told by my local dillon dealer, that the gauge was cut tight on purpose. if the rounds fit in the gauge, even with a little pressure, it will fit in a gun's chamber.
  20. ive seen it a few times. my friend has the same gun as me, basically a pieced together A2. nothing special. his reloads that were assembled with a hand priming tool slam fired 2 or 3 times in 1 range session. the ones I made on my dillon press did not. same load, same primers. id start by making sure your primers are seated all the way.
  21. is it in fact spilling from the powder measure, or is it jumping out when the shellplate is indexed?
  22. im subscribing to this thread. . . as far as the OAL issue, make sure that the auto drive is cycling the ram all the way. maybe mark the ram at the extremes with the regular handle, and then see where you're at with the auto drive.
  23. long tweezers to remove the first few cases from the top. then remove the clear tube

    700x

I made up some 115g MG FMJ 9mm's with it last week. i think it was 4grains. ill have to check the manual. it shot fine. was very clean, and had much less flash than some Remington factory loads i had collecting dust. this was out of a ruger p85. i also made up some 45 230g MG fmj, and JHP. again, i would have to check my notes for the specifics, but it is perfectly good, clean powder for this. now on the other hand, reduced power 185g lswc's were very dirty, but shot well.
