    700x

this doesn't seem to be a popular powder here. i primarily shoot 185gr lswc's and 230gr hardball. I used to use 231, but it has been tough to find. I was able to get some 700x, witch i used a few years ago. It seems to work fine with the hardball, but is very smokey with the wad cutters. what's the consensus on this powder?
  3. Im not familiar with these particular orings, but Mcmaster- carr has all kinds of orings. find out the dimensions and look them up at mcmaster.com
  4. so here's an update: i spoke to rick from mr bulletfeeder. he is going to make me a dropper for 223. essentially 1/2 a conversion kit. price should be sub $100, since there will be no collator disk or micros witch. he says as long as i keep it full, there should not be a problem. I may even see if I can rig up some feed tubes like the gaspari unit. if it works well on the 223, I'll probably order one for the 45. I just picked up 2k cases, plus i have another 1k prepped. ill be able to give it a good test when i sit down to load those up. I'll keep you posted.
  5. id set it up and try it out. im the 2nd or 3rd owner of mine. date on the manual is 1993. had to order some parts from dillon and asked them about it's age, mainly because i was getting worried about my new dog eating the primer cups that ended up on the floor. they sent me a whole new platform with the new primer catch no questions asked. other than the design and material of the platform, i dont think there are any other significant differences.
  6. Ive been reading every post i can find on this, but couldn't find the right answers. . . I'm interested in a bullet feeder, but don't need, or want something with a collator just yet. I think that just removing my hands from the pinch point will provide a significant speed increase, and that my left hand would be doing nothing with a full blown feeder, so why not use it to feed a bullet feeder hopper? The gaspari unit interested me, but I called the # on the website and a nice lady told me that they were no longer selling them. that leaves the gsi and the mr bulletfeeder options, unless there are others out there? what comes with a caliber conversion with these units? the mr bullet feeder info is very sparse everywhere i looked. anyone have a gaspari unit they want to part with? thanks
  7. mine likes the high velocity stuff just like these guys have said. bit it works fine with match ammo and a reduced power mainspring and lots of lube. also dont put any pressure on the bottom of the mags. it seems to cause cycling problems.
  8. i too just started loading 223. Ive been loading 45 and 9mm for a few years. Case prep is the biggest pain in the . . . with these things. i bought a Dillon trimmer on eBay and its worth its weight in gold. I value my time, and if you trim, debur and remove the crimp, you are handling each piece of brass 3 times. with the Dillon trimmer, i have not seen the need to debur the cases. I have a toolhead set up to decap and size. dump a pile of lubed cases in the case-feeder and go to town. the vacuum is louder than the trimmer motor. just make sure that you get all the tumbling media out of those baby cases. it jams up the works on my 650 quick.
  9. I have done it. just make sure you dbl check your OAL before you get crazy.
