  1. Even though he couldn't duplicate the malfunction his kids had?
  2. I'd like a definitive answer to this as well. The spacers supposedly slow down the bolt to prevent breaking the bolt latch. My build was running 100% till I tried $1.75 in quarters in my buffer tube. Gun started doubling when my boys (age 10 and 8) shot it. I couldn't duplicate the malfunction. Took out 3 quarters and tested it; gun runs perfect. Friend of mine tried the $1.75 quarter trick and his new gun spat out a couple of 4-5 round bursts during a match. Going to do more testing. Feel like leaving a spare bolt latch in my range bag and say screw it already. new bolt latch is $15 Sounds like bump firing the gun from not holding it tight.
  3. Fed GMM 69's were crazy accurate in my 20" JP. 5 shots were covered by a dime at 100. In my 14.5" JP, Prvi 75's were more accurate than the Fed GMM. Both were under 1 MOA but the Prvi was better and cheaper...
  4. At least a 12 round tube and possibly a 13/14 if it's not to unwieldy. I used to run a 12 but went to a 14 as match directors figured out everyone was going to 12 so they put 13 or 14 round arrays in the stage. With a max of 15 in the gun I can knock out most array's without a standing reload. My 24" Beretta with a 14 round tube is about perfect. Just take off the +2 cap when I need to get a little more compact.
  5. A bunch of us who shot PCC at the 3GN Regional in FL ran a 75 yard zero. If you check at multiple distances you'll see it's very similar to a 25 yard zero. After coming back from the match we all agreed that running a 15/20 yard zero would have been more beneficial for that particular match. Why...because the 4" pieces of steel (simulate clay bird) that were at 7-15 yards were harder to hit than any plate rack at 50-60 or large piece of steel at 100. Would rather have to hold dead on those to get the hit versus worrying about the offset. I'd also recommend at least a 4moa dot for PCC. I ran a trijicon MRO and Martini shot a 2 moa Aimpoint Micro. We both agreed we'd rather have a larger brighter dot for PCC. Edwards ran a 8moa C-More and that was fairly close to perfect.
  6. I've got both of them and IMO if the majority of the work was inside 200 yards I'd go with the firedot BDC. If there were frequently shots past 300 and it happened to be on smaller targets (sub 3 moa) I'd run the CMR2.
  7. I doubt stages will be posted but I could be wrong and I will check. Yes you'll need slugs. Yes you'll need a sling/slings (one stage rifle might be slung, next stage it could be shotgun).
  8. Just because you can use the PCC for everything doesn't mean it's fastest. We saw that at the first regional. Sometimes using shotgun on small targets at distance was faster than the PCC if there was enough ground to cover that reloads weren't static and hurt your time.
  9. Yes JP has heavy bolt and silent captured buffer with heavy spring.
  10. My new Leupy's (VX-6 with Firedot BDC reticle) showed up last Wednesday. Haven't tried them at the range on steel yet but I'm very impressed. I actually just sold my Razor with JM reticle as I wanted lighter weight and think this reticle is more suited for the game I play. I don't think the dot is as bright but if the stadia lines are relatively close with 55, 62, 69 or 75 gr bullets then this scope is going to be a serious contender moving forward. Also have the VX-6 with CMR2 reticle and think it's great as well. Saves a ton of weight compared to the Razor and the BDC worked well with my 75gr ammo out to 600.
  11. His handguard looked to be 17.25" and he has the top rail... If you go to a lancer handguard (<7-8 oz), lose the thermal dissipator (<5 oz), grab a lighter mount (< 2 oz) you could probably shave a pound. Somebody on here would likely buy the JP handguard and thermal dissipator.
  12. It's my understanding it was set up for 3 gun with a 200 yard zero. Subtensions are at 300, 350, 400, 450, 500. I don't know what bullet weight or velocity it's for but that's what I've heard from our Leupold reps.
  13. It's my understanding that Magpul is discontinuing ODG and the only 2 colors they'll be doing moving forward are Black & Sand. Sand is dyeable so you can make it any color you'd like. Certain distributors/large customers may get special runs of colors used in the past but I'm sure when & if that will happen.
  14. It is definitely daylight bright. As good or better than Vortex Razor HD. The windage turret was capped. The elevation turret had a zero stop on it. Clicks were very positive and I doubt I could throw it into a barrel and move it.
  15. 1-8 was very nice. A bit on the heavy side but definitely daylight bright and had a nice reticle with stadia.
  16. Diagnosed it tonight... Checked for cracks, found none. Took slide off, still wouldn't drop... Looked closely and found the bottom tab of the leaf spring was sticking through too far and contacting the bottom of some mags impeding them from dropping free. Broke it down, filed it a small bit and got everything working good as new. Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll know what to look for moving forward. G
  17. Thanks for all the replies guys. I'll try all those things this afternoon and get back to you.
  18. Only has about 200 rounds on it Sarge. Where should I look for the crack?
  19. Having a problem with some mags not dropping free from an AL STI grip. Anyone else had this before? If so, was it determined to be a mag or grip issue? Thanks, G
  20. I like 24-26 and here's why... Most of us are running 12-14 round tubes which mean they are longer than the barrel. I'd also rather have the extra barrel length which increases sight radius for slug shots. It may also pattern better or give you slightly higher velocities meaning I need less choke.
  21. Can't go wrong with JP and SLR. Both companies make great stuff that have been used in 3 gun and are proven reliable.
