  1. You can also run the brass through a 'U' die (undersize) by EGW. This die goes down far enough on the case to remove the bulge. Just another option. So far I've run all my brass through the U die and haven't had a single round fail the case gauge. I'll keep checking them though.
  2. It's one of those things that you will double check to make sure you have it in your bag before heading to the range. A great product!
  3. Check out the Tucker Gunleather kydex holsters that are lined with leather. Pretty slick and very nice.
  4. OK, took another look at the front sight and it looks like it is staked.
  5. It is an old model.... I'm thinking I purchased it new in '97 although I can't find the receipt right now. To me it looks like the front sight is milled as a part of the slide since there is no gap or line around the front sight. Maybe it's not a Loaded model, I'm really not sure. I'll have to call Springfield with the serial number, maybe they can help me out. Maybe I'll just go with the Techwell grips and magewell in the XT size. And some Wilson 8rd mags.
  6. Any recommendations for who could do the front cut with fiber optic? How about the Dawson Ice Magwell? Thanks!
  7. Hey guys. I've had this Springfield Armory 1911A1 for quite a few years and haven't shot it much at all. I think it is a SA Loaded?? Can anyone confirm if this is correct. Does have a Novak rear sight. If I put 500 rounds through it I'd be surprised. Anyway, I was thinking about starting to use it for the IDPA/Defensive pistol shoots at the local club. A couple of questions..... (1) Can I put a fiber optic front sight on? I am guessing the slide would have to be milled. How much (ballpark) would this run? (2) I would want to put a Dawson Precision 1911 Ice Magwell on it as well and get some 8 round magazines. Any thoughts on this idea? Favorite 8 rd mags? Any other changes?? Not looking to put a ton into it, just a few modifications to be a little more friendly for IDPA type shoots. Thanks.
  8. I like the 2nd hat a lot better. Not a fan of the lightning bolts either.
  9. Thanks for the comments guys. It ran well last night with my new reloads, like the way it recoiled, etc. More practice ahead
  10. Mine showed up in one day. Placed the order on Thursday and they came yesterday.
  11. How do you know if it is hitting the rifling?
  12. I find shooting relaxing and a good way to clear my mind for a while. This sport allows that plus a whole lot more fun
  13. Looks great, I love making home made pizza. Only use I have for the bread machine is to make pizza dough.
  14. How are their prices? Might be worth the 45 min (one way) drive over there.
  15. Looks good, definitely different.
  16. NC...I did exactly the same thing. Glad you figured it out. The other "gotcha" that I had was the direction the powder bar activation rod (if that is even close to the correct terminology) was fed thru the "butterfly" mechanism at the base of the powder station. If it was fed thru in the wrong direction it would snag and cause a sticky point in the operation. I swung that around and no issues since. Regards, Pooleman Glad I'm not the only one that made this mistake Seems like an easy thing to do.... or easy for an accountant Anyway, after I made that change, I've loaded a couple hundred rounds of 40 on the Dillon 550 without a single hiccup. Looking forward to trying them out at the local indoor USPSA match this Saturday. I'm hoping the new gun likes the load.
  17. I picked up this Bedell Limited blaster about 2 weeks ago. Still breaking it in but so far I'm loving it. A BIG thanks to Tony at Velocity Shooter for helping me out. Pics aren't the best, but they'll work for now. I'll have to get it outside in the sun for some good pics.
  18. Thanks for the replies! Since this is a new press... new and new to me.... the only thing I did was change from large primers to small primers. However, when I changed that, I did not change the tube inside the primer feed tube (still had the large tube in). Anyway, took everything apart to finally figure this out. Put the small primer tube in and off she went. These are good tips as I get more rounds loaded on it! Thanks!
  19. Hello. I was loading some 40's last night and was having trouble with getting a new primer to drop into the primer cup when I resized a case. At first the bar/primer cup wasn't sliding all the way back. I think I got that corrected but it still wasn't dropping new primers consistently. Is there something that I need to adjust? Seems like the primer tube is a little loose, maybe it's supposed to be that way. Any hints/help is appreciated. Thanks.
  20. Get to pick up my new blaster tomorrow and will be able to give it a test run Been shooting USPSA off and on for a little over a year and this will be my first time shooting Limited. Always have played in Production prior to this. Even sold a couple of H&K's today to help fund the purchase. Pictures to follow on Sunday.
  21. Very nicely done, professional looking!
  22. Agree on the Merrell's.... I like wearing the low cut hiking type shoe. Not sure of the model but after this pair, I've become a Merrell fan. The Adidas shoes look nice, just haven't seen them in person, yet.
