  1. Bruce, I noticed on the range map from the website that there is a demo bay. What is that going to be used for? Thanks.
  2. Wow! She's a beaut! Congratulations, now go kick butt in league with it.

    Glock for the Boys

Just a quick thought... --You could also add a brass magwell, brass base pads and ext. tungsten guide rod to add weight. This would help dampen recoil. --you could buy a 34 slide/upper, some 9mm mags and use it onto the 35 frame. --Or just buy him his own 34! Good luck on the project!
  4. Nice gun Flex size does matter
  5. Area 1 residents Just a small reminder that match fees and app are due 4/1. There is a small footnote on the app form that states this. Also there are NO match day/late entries and I've heard that they ARE going to stick with this. Hope to see you there!

    Mag wells

I was one of the first local Glock shooters to put one on for our USPSA matches. Alot of shooters asked about them and I told them basically verbatim what CGR said. Everyone that's tried one has loved it. Most of the Glock shooters now have them on. Besides helping with reloads it really helps to soften the gun up. My 35 with Major loads felt like a new and improved gun. In fact, I enjoy shooting a 35/major with a brass magwell better than a 34/minor without one.
  7. Major matches Area 1 Oregon Sectional - Roseburg, OR GSSF - Roseburg, OR Limited Nats (if I get a slot and time and $$ allow) Hope to meet some BE'ers there. (Edited by Trey at 4:26 pm on Mar. 6, 2003)
  8. gunboy, I had a friend who powder coated his glock 35 (slide and magwell). He's Irish, so he coated it in metallic flake green. It really looks funky and cool. **warning** Eric W is dead on. Powder coating is THICK so do not apply it anywhere internally/externally or where it could affect the guns function. The powder coat was only put on the externally places of the slide. Just cosmetic As for durability, I can't really say. He's only had it about a month. It seems like it should hold up fairly well. It was also very inexpensive. The gun/magwell was done for $20.
  9. That's a beauty! Is it a sin to have gun envy? Here's some of my favorite factory loads. Major/match loads 180 gr. UMC FMJ 180 gr. Winchester FMJ Wal-mart or Miwall.com have the best prices I've found. Practice Loads Miwall 180 FMJ factory reloads (just barely makes major)
  10. erik, brian, nate, Thanks for the great advice. I'm really looking forward to it!
  11. Thanks everyone. I look forward to meeting some Be'ers. Area 1 looks to be locked in. I was able to get some vacation. When I send in my app, I will let you know. Nationals will depend on whether or not I can get a slot. BTW, how much does nationals cost?
  12. --What are your thoughts on starting a petition to our BOD to withdraw from IPSC?-- No. Because Vince is cool. Because then I couldn't apply for my team adrenalin membership. Because I couldn't shoot and vacation overseas in one fun and gun trip.
  13. I echo Duane's comments. Also the HK's controls are more complicated as the decocker/manual safety are on one lever. IE it's easy to miss a position or action unless you pay attention and load/decock/holster/shoot the same method each time. When I first started USPSA (shooting a Sig), I watched another newbie shoot an HK but he didn't pay close attention to decocking or enganging the safety. He reholstered without decocking and the safety was NOT on. He had an AD about 3" from his foot. HK's are good guns but Sigs are simpler, smoother, and run great.
  14. 300 lb. and skywalker, You're both right. Since Skywalker is in Italy, IPSC rules apply for him. 300 lbs. is in the USA, therefore USPSA rules apply. Just be sure to read the right appendix. The red USPSA 14th edition has two sets of divisions/rules for IPSC and USPSA.
  15. Erik, Do the BE'ers squad together, etc? Is there a secret handshake or signal that I need to know?
  16. Grrl and BDH, Thanks for the help. I really don't want to be a burr in any MD's saddle. Maybe I can beg a extra day from my boss for the whole enchilada. Grrl --- Are you going to Area 1? It would be nice to meet some BE'ers there.
  17. This is my 2nd season shooting USPSA and I'm planning on shooting Area 1 (3 days) and Limited Nationals (4 days). My question is does you have to shoot all 3-4 days or can you only go 2-3 days shoot and leave? My job is listed as "critical" @ work and my employer is restricting vacations (basically none) and I only have 2-3 days to play with. Also, if you have to leave early will your award/trophy be mailed to you? Thanks!
  18. BE, You have my permission. I would be honored.
  19. JT, No prob. Glad to help. SG is one of the few things I've ever purchased that lived up to the hoopla around it. It's great stuff.
  20. JT, I had the same ? and I did some testing. CLP (regular type) is more like a gun oil plus teflon. I mixed regular gun oil with SG and then CLP with SG. I then let them sit overnight and compared the consistency. It was identical. I don't believe CLP has acetone/naptha in it. I then started to use SG#1 cut with CLP for practice and matches to test it out. This winter, I've been running SG#1 cut with CLP due to the cold here in Oregon. My G35 has run perfectly (1-2k rounds) in temps from 35-55 degrees. YMMV, but I hope that helps

    .40 .45 or ?

Mike, What do you like to shoot Ipsc/USPSA (which division), GSSF, bullseye, etc? Then find out what will work for the competition and rules. Ask some shooters around you what they have tried and like. There's also a plethora of help here. Many of the glocks could be dual purpose (personal defense and competition) 17, 19, 22, 23. They are accurate enough, reliable, easy to clean and have a ton of goodies to add on. The longer slides tend to be used for comp. only. That being said....I have a 34 and 35 and love them both. The longer barrel really tames muzzle flip and helps bump up the velocity on the 35 to make major.

    Holster for Glock

BE, I have yet to see an 007 (with glocks) in competition yet. But my experience is limited to local ipsc and RO'ing ~300 glock shooters @ a GSSF match. They may be out there but I haven't seen them. I do see a bunch of the old safariland holsters in use with the 1911 SS guys around here. They work and hold up for a long, long time. Plus the worn in, used look is pretty cool IMHO.
  23. Dick, Glad to be of help. I hope you like it. That magwell and ext. guide rod really won me over to L10 with my 35. I used to shoot production mainly. But after shooting my 35 with the stuff on it, I really liked it. In fact, most of the glockers (L10, L)@ the club (ipsc) run this way. We still haven't agreed on spring weights though..... CGR does send an email confirmation out to the address you give him. Does that mean you have to sleep on the couch now? Have fun!
  24. I converted them with my Palm and these are the figures. It looks ok (weightwise) but if you shoot a 17 with the ext. guide rode sticking out, while shooting production, they might take notice. Whereas the 34/35 it's flush with the end of the slide. 46g = 1.62 oz 34g = 1.19 oz Hope that helps.
