  1. Erik, It shouldn't be too bad. It's in June, so I would guess 70-85 degrees. At least you had a can of whoop-ass, mine is still on order. It'll be the same crew, so there should be great stages like last year. Look forward to seeing you there.
  2. Thanks everyone! Great stuff to work on. Here's my idea for the weighted mags... I have dummy rounds that are machined from brass. They are solid brass and weigh pretty heavy. Put 4-8 of those in a mag and then top off the mag with the orange plastic rounds. That way there could be no confusion.
  3. Thanks pwalker. I so "try" remember where the next full mag is and that is part of my problem. At home with dryfire no problem but it doesn't work well in practice/matches.
  4. Last year, Erik Warren found his open gun mojo here. Can you find yours? 8 stages, 200 rounds - may shoot all in one day $50 before June, 1 www.oregonipsc.com ========================================== (Note: fixed URL)
  5. In trying to improve my reloads, I notice the the first one is fine but as my hand moves across the belt the reloads suffer with slight fumbles or slower times. I've been looking at the magwell and trying to watch it in but the "grab" is what I'm having problem with. Do you see your hand remove the mag with your peripheral vision or not? Then switch your attention to insert/seat the mag? I've been trying to move my head as little as possible to have economy of motion. What do you do/see? Your thoughts?

    Grip pressure %

g34, Everyone is different so the answers may vary. You want the best fit for you, your gun and load. Matt burkett has an excellent timing drill (www.mattburkett.com) that helps you pay attention/adjust your grip depending on what you feel and see with your gun. Also for the drill, if you have trouble with your groups at the higher splits just move the targets closer. You'll see what I mean if you shoot it. Grip well, see well, shoot well!
  7. Local in Oregon (no sales tax!) nib g35 (two mags, brush, etc.) 550 + 9 background check = $559 out the door used g35 with 50 rounds through it - 500 +9 = $509 decent used g35 $450-500 +9 EricW is dead on though about the additional price tags. The overnight shipping, ffl fee, and background check usually kill the good deals that are found on the net. That being said, we have people who drive 3 hrs. from Portland, OR to buy here as Portland charges 600-700 for a new g35. The new g37 is also out of control. In portland $650, here $530. You might be able to drive somewhere and get a good local deal.

    double tap times

Sbar, Welcome to BE! If you haven't read our hosts' book, you would be well served by doing so. It will really help you. It did me. You can only shoot as fast as you can see. Faster shooting doesn't produce better vision/sight. BUT seeing more will help to decrease your times in some areas of shooting. BTW, I also had "double taps" in my vocabulary. After I reading BE's book, I had to lobotimize alot of shooting terms and philosophy from my brain. As I increase my awareness, I improved. It helped immensely!
  9. I've tried 5-6 products and SG is far and away the best. SG is great on the connector because it stays put and doesn't migrate. Best of luck to you.
  10. Thanks guys. I'll give it a try and see how it works. --- I can't wait to see the look on my wife's face see ..."Honey, may I borrow your nail polish?"...
  11. I second that motion. I'm with flex!! Another happy glock shooter in L10. I like shooting major. I shoot my 35 in L10 and love it!
  12. Flex, What is the red and white boxes on the inside of your magwell for? Thanks!
  13. That is hilarious!! Did you duck for cover when he said it? (You need to keep in practice)
  14. My vote is the 35 as well. Most people shoot 5" barrels in ipsc. It seems to be the best balance for control and transitions. But then again, I always wanted to hang out with the cool kids.... Also I have some fml hi-caps, extensions, etc. for sale. Email me if you're interested. trey@rosenet.net
  15. Being a newer shooter, I don't often post unless I feel I have something to contribute. I did find a similiar problem in my shooting. I did notice C hits on close targets during matches. So went and practiced/analyzed my shooting. I found that on hoser targets, I find myself yanking into C's when I'm not paying attention to my index. Now, I just make sure I'm lined up and let it rip. Hope that helps. BTW, Good job at the Oregon Open!
  16. Win 180 gr. are the most accurate in my 35.
  17. I would highly recommend the CGR ext. tungsten guide rod. I've yet to see a CGR guide rod break. Even if it does break, it has a lifetime warranty. I've found that with the tung. guide rod and brass magwell, it brings my 35 to 32 oz. (unloaded) That is on the light side for limited guns and it transitions well for me. But half the fun is changing parts and seeing what works for you. Good luck.
  18. Warren and fellas, Hello. It's in my hometown and should be a good match. I haven't shoot the Croc but this should be a different type of match. BrianH was right. It is a different crowd. I've saw a passing glance at the stages they were looking at. They looked pretty good. Oh, and the weather should be nicer than Area 1. Sunny and 70-90 degrees but you might bring a rain jacket just in case. The range is located right by the N Umpqua river with a scenic backdrop. There will be 6 stages in pistol bays with gravel/dirt. The other two stages will be on a rifle range with field grass/dirt. There is a ton of outdoor stuff to do. Fishing, hiking, camping, rafting, floating, etc. you name it. If anyone needs help with good motels, dining, rec time, etc. Just email me. trey@rosenet.net Look forward to seeing everyone there.
  19. CGR, After shooting the 37, what are your impressions about it? Thanks!
  20. Area 1 was my first big match. But boy was it cold on Thursday! It gives new meaning to the word "practical" shooting. The challenge and design of the stages were great. It was nice meeting and chatting with Eric. Once we defrosted. I was hoping to perform better but it was a great learning experience. Good news is my gun ran 100% with slide glide #1. I usually "cut" it with oil when the temps are close/sub freezing. I hadn't done that as I was expecting the normal temps of 50-70 degrees we had been having in OR. The cold weather seemed to affect alot of guns. PS Roseburg is hosting an 8 stage USPSA Oregon sectional on July 11,12,13. Come on down! I promise -- no snow!!
  21. 4k through my KKM and I love it. I would highly recommend them for your 35.
  22. Last weekend at the local USPSA match, we had a field course where you ran 15-25 yards back and forth. One poor guy was really, really breathing hard and told us felt bad that he was so out of shape. I told him, "Don't worry, for us fat IPSC guys, this is our marathon (27 miles) run."
  23. Bruce, Thanks! It's my first big match and I'm really looking forward to it. But if I demo and buy something my wife might kill me.
