Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thanks, I dont reload any cal but buy the 9mm 100 rd Win at Walmart or 11 bucks (cant beat the price). I currently have a 9mm Hi Point and was wondering if I needed the extra power? Sounds like a good self defense load on the 9mm is all I need. The 26 felt real good and Im glad I dont have to buy he sites when I get the gun. My wife has me on a budget (really sucks) and its hard enough to pull off $500.00 let alone additional for the night sights. Are the aftermarket night sites just as good (Im sure they are)? Also which pinky mag extender should I buy? I know there are a couple of companies that make them. Does glock sell them? The range 26 had them and couldnt imagine not haveing them.
  2. I am looking to purchase a 26 or 27. I like the added power of the 27 but like the price of 9mm ammo. I shot both at the range. The 26 felt smoother with less recoil (Im sure its because its a smaller caliber). Is this the only pros and cons between the two? Any other help welcome. Also I am looking at the night sights. Is this something I can add later on? Are they any good? Thanks...............
  3. OK, I was thinking of getting into reloading but you guys are scaring me. Does the 550 (The one Im thinking of buying) also protect you from the primers going off?

    .40 .45 or ?

Im still learning about each shooting class. I also have to see if there are any matches close to me ( I am pretty sure their is). Sounds like either the 9mm or .40. I really wanted to get a different cal because even though Its a cheaper one, I already have a 9mm. What are the disadvantages of the .45. I have heard that reloading is better or safer on the .45. That could just be others opinion. Isnt the G17 a bit big to carry? It just looks pretty big. I will have to go and give them all another look. Thanks again everyone
  5. I am looking at getting into reloading. I was really looking at the SDB. I see people post bragging about making 1000 rounds in just an hour or 2 with the 650. Is the speed just to get it over quickly? It looks fun and I only shoot 100-200 rounds a week (maybe 300 on a good week). I thought that was a lot until I seen how many rounds everyone makes. I figure I could be on the SDB 1 hour a week. How is changing between calibers? Is it pretty hard? I just dont want to buy the SDB and wish I would of got the 650 later (seems like that is what everyone is saying). An help would be great. I probably will order in a month. I have a 9mm but looking to get a .45 or .40 ..
  6. I am in the same boat. I am looking to buy a .40 or a .45 (maybe both some day). I really want to get into reloading and also was looking at the SDB. I never plan on shooting rifles but many diff cal of pistols. Are the dies easy to change? Would it be better to go with the 650? I shoot 9mm currently and the ammo is so cheap that it doesnt justify the equipment but I figure it would be worth 40.00 for an extra die. Reloading sure does look fun.. I dont want to rebuy in a year or 2. Most people I have seen have "moved up" to a 650. The price isnt that much more.. (Edited by mikeb9550 at 8:56 pm on Jan. 14, 2003)

    .40 .45 or ?

I have been in the hobby for only a month and I am already looking for my next gun. I bought an inexpensive Hi Point 9mm because I wanted to make sure I really liked it before I put in too much cash. I should of rented but didnt know they did that. The High point Jams a lot (90 degrees). The company said if I send it in they will fix it and send it back along with a free mag. Im sure they will but I still am looking for a second gun that I might carry if I decide to get a CCW. I was looking at a .40 or .45 (more toward the .45). Any suggestions on pros or cons of each. I was thinking of a Glock because I heard so many good things and they look cool. I plan on getting into reloading so ammo price isnt really a huge concern. I really like the G23. I also want to get into some shooting contest someday. Is their such thing as a dual purpose gun or do I need one of each. I might have a hard time convincing my wife of the second.
