  1. Clays works well for minor loads in 40S&W in my experience. Much cleaner than titegroup.
  2. Hey thanks guys! Think I'm gonna get one G34 for me, and one for my girlfriend, to shoot production! See you at the Golden Bullet, Carlos. I wanna see that new limited gun.
  3. Hey thanks again for letting me borrow your 34! Looks like I'll be getting my own now.
  4. Thanks! I think I was working when you were shooting, but I didn't introduce myself. I'll say hi next time.
  5. I shot my first gssf match this weekend, and it looks like I won 3 guns! I like this game.
  6. Well, it looks like I just won 3 guns at the local GSSF match. I was first in amateur civilian, and second overall in competition and unlimited (shooting my limited gun). Instant bump to gssf master for me. I'm pretty stoked!
  7. Richmond has the best rainy matches! I personally liked this one:
  8. Well, I've had a string of bad matches. I've had 16 or some ridiculous number of mikes in the last 3 matches, which is more than I've had in the rest of my shooting career so far. Hoping to get all the kinks out before the Golden Bullet, or I'm gonna get slaughtered. I think I just need to make sure that I'm well rested before a match, and not to be afraid of noshoots (and hardcover!?) and I'll be ok. I also need to shoot more groups, which I haven't been doing enough of. Need to make sure my shot calling is behaving correctly, because it's been a bit off recently.
  9. It's whatever you want it to be. Usually that means a two handed grip.
  10. Ouch! I've been hit before but never like that... Good thing we always wear safety glasses.
  11. What he said. I don't put my finger in the guard until a bit later, but I need to get the safety off before I get my support hand on the gun, or I won't be able to get it off at all. I certainly never do it in the holster!
  12. Haha! Thanks Norbert. My money is on this one...
  13. Headspacing? It's possible I guess. I'm not sure the stock barrel would be any better... (shooting 40 out of a 10mm barrel) I'll definitely take you up on your offer of the G22 if my gun blows up before the match.
  14. That's a cool idea! I long ago noticed that I could hear the powder in a single round of 7.62x54R, or a mag full of 40 s&w, but not a single 40. I wonder if my electronic ear pro will make let me hear it?
  15. Shot this one yesterday in limited with all As in 2.64. Weeeeeeee!

    34 sights

I like the plain black Warren Sevigny sights.
  17. Maybe it is just the gun. If it keeps on doing it, I'll call glock, but for now It's my only limited gun, and I'm signed up for a big match with it. Hopefully my 2 strikers should be enough to last until then.
  18. I've had a pierced primer or 2 with the federals, but I've had the problem before that and it doesn't seem to happen very often... I am using a wolff light striker spring. Well, tomorrow I am shooting some long range with my Mosin Nagant. Maybe I'll manage to break the Mosin firing pin. That'd make me the king of firing pin carnage.
  19. Anyone think it's weird that I've gone through 3 glock strikers in a little yes than a year? I had 2 stock strikers get chipped enough that I started getting light strikes. Just today I found that the front skinny part that goes through the hole in the breechface was entirely snapped off of my fancy Jager striker. I'm not doing anything too crazy with my loads... Just moderate major loads with titegroup (and now N320). It seems to happen to me no matter what loads I use, from minor to 180PF, with primers ranging from Wolf to Federal. I also managed to snap off the firing pin on my new Nordic Components NC22 upper. I think I'm just cursed. oh well. ETA: I'm shooting a Glock 20 with a KKM 40 S&W barrel.
  20. I didn't know him well, but he was always friendly and fun to shoot with. I'm very sad to see him go. Rest in Peace.
  21. Thumbs up on the agressive stance. I've been working that into my shooting as well. Dave Sevigny is another good one to watch for that.
  22. I'm using a CZ75b in 40S&W. I installed the competition hammer myself. No other trigger work. Standard mainspring. Haven't settled on a recoil spring yet. Flat black competition sights from CZ custom (non adjustable rear). Hogue fingergroove grips. My load is 3.0 grains of clays behind a 180 grain bayou bullet at 1.135". It is quite soft at 135pf, and is the most consistent 40 S&W load I have yet loaded. The CZ was my first centerfire handgun. It was originally a limited 10 gun. I've moved on to Glock for limited, but the CZ is still a very nice platform for production.
  23. I just put my thumb where it comfortably wants to be. It varies a bit over time, but most of the time it's pointed more or less straight forward. I don't think the exact position is all that important, as long as it's not touching.
