  1. Once you get it can you please post a few pics for us? Thanks
  2. I wear a Columbia Bora Bora booney II hat in the summer. It is ventilated so it allows air to circulate and the wide brim keeps my head, neck and ears from getting sunburned. http://www.columbia....default,pd.html How do you keep the hat on while wearing ear muffs? Do you use the cords on the hat, or some other trick? I wear ear plugs in the summer.....

    S&W 625 JM

Same here but what is that pointy thing on the back of the hammer?
  6. I tend to get better groups with 124gr bullets so that is what I'm sticking with.
  7. Have a great time! I look forward to hearing how it went.
  8. I have a 1510 that I use when I travel and I have often thought about using it as a range bag. However, the thing is stout (ie heavy) and I'm still not convinced that it works better than a traditional nylon / cordura range bag.
  9. While I tend to agree with you Re: new Ruger firearms, I would have to think that the SR1911 should be good to go.... it's no like it's a new design..... It's pretty hard to screw up a 1911.... even for Ruger
  10. Great tent! Kudos for including the clip-on cigar holder!!!! Well done!
  11. I put a set on my 625 and they made a wold of difference! They are worth every penny!
  12. I have the same set up on my 625 and I've been happy with it so far.
  13. Steve, Mind if I borrow that idea for one of our matches?
  14. I'm having a hard time understanding why he even cares about the revolver division... I suppose I could see if a handful of revo shooters were taking home all the prize money.... or if IDPA had to allocate a disproportionately high amount of resources to keep them running but neither seems to be the case. It doesn’t take up any extra time, money or resources to have the revolver divisions so why all the weeping and gnashing of teeth?? I suppose that IPA could do away with the revolver divisions if they wanted but I don’t see any upside for them. If they are trying to grow the sport and encourage people to join why would you want to eliminate a segment of the shooting population however small it may be? I wouldn’t want to be the guy that had to tell Jerry Miculkk that he couldn’t shoot his 625’s in IDPA any longer……
  15. I placed an order with them in early April and took 3-4 weeks for the order to ship. I emailed them and they replied that they were running behind and doing everything they could to try and keep up. Now that I have a bit of back stock I am going to place another order with them. I really like their bullets and my 625 seems to do very well with them. That said, I also placed an order with Missouri Bullet Company and I had the bullets in hand in less than 10 days... It never hurts to have more than one source for bullets these days.
  16. I've used Bladetech, Comp-Tac, Blackhawk, and Safariland holsters for IDPA and the Comp-Tac products are my favorite. They offer very well made products plus fantastic customer service.
  17. I use Mobil 1 V-Twin synthetic oil. I am told that it was formulate for air-cooled engines which have similar properties as a handgun or rifle. I've been using it on all my handguns as well as the BCG on my AR for almost 2 years and it has been fantastic. On a related note, I use Mobil 1 synthetic grease on the hinge pins of my SxS and O/U shotguns. I've had several friends shoot high volume doves in South America and the Mobil 1 is the ONLY stuff that didn't cook off under the heat of a days shooting.
  18. Why would one want to convert it to 9mm?
  19. I sent my cylinder to Carmoney, I added Hogue X-frame grips and I have an SDM F/O front sight on the way...... other than that I'm just shooting the thing.
  20. Thanks. I spent 15 years shooting sporting clays so I never had to worry about sights.......
  21. I just got an email response from Smith & Wesson and the stock front sight on a 625JM is .243.... in case anyone wanted to know.
  22. If you want to shoot low or if you ARE shooting low?
  23. I just ordered a Rush 24 as a general purpose bag when I ride my bike to work in the summer.... I never thought about using it as a range bag..... Interesting.
  24. Words to live by brother!!!
  25. I always get this messed up..... if I'm shooting low do I want to add a taller front sight or a lower front sight?
