Dillon 550 Press and Redding G-RX Sizing Die
COMATZD replied to silverfox417's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
Tried the same thing, got a $25 Lee to run the GRX. -
Well that's interesting! Pretty hard to explain things when we're looking at different representations.

Let me try to show with a couple pics. The first shows a BB with a clear link to the new unread post (#xx), clicking on the thread title takes you to the first post (#1). The second is Enos. The icon on the left should take you to the first new unread post (and it does), but the thread title also takes you there (not to post #1). I don't have any issues with finding my unread posts or anything, it's just that sometimes I want to start at the beginning not the end.
-
Brian, I have my setting as "Show me all content that I have not read", which I've done for a while and I seem to get the correct results. The issue seems to be that the link used for the thread title is a 'new post' search on the specific thread. This task should already be taken care of by the 'Goto first unread post' icon to the left of the title. It would be preferred that clicking on the thread title always goes to the beginning of the thread, not the first unread. Danno

Has this been looked into? This setting is still annoying (to me anyway), I'd like to have the option of going to the first or last post while viewing new content. Danno

I worked as a pizza delivery driver for ~10 years; nothing reinforces simple math like counting change. Like OP says, clerks get completely lost without the box telling them the proper change. I've actually had to 'witness' for a customer in front of me when he had to tell the clerk what change he should get back!

Which timer is it? I have a Club Timer and there is a pointy solder point inside that can short out on the battery causing erratic operation. I had to add a small spacer to make sure it works reliably.

Like my wife says, "At least we beat the Mavericks!".

I'm RH and use a small racker on the right with my 90* mount. It only took me 2-3 matches and some practice sessions to feel real comfortable with it. And I don't catch my thumb anymore... Danno

Watches
COMATZD replied to xcelr8n's topic in Miscellaneous Topics That Do Not Fit in Any Other Forum
I've had some high-end Casio (is this an oxymoron?) and some great japanese watches, but my wife got me a Traser last summer. I don't think I'll ever get another watch. This one has the blue tritium, titanium case and band, and a sapphire crystal. This place had some good deals (where I got mine). I looked at the Luminox versions, but I liked the metal band. I'd say go for the Luminox if you like the rubber or fabric straps. Danno -
Normal operation of modern vehicles have the idle increase when the AC pump kicks on. My truck feels like it gets rear-ended at a stop when the idle kicks up. Now the reason why your's is suddenly fluctuating is different. Is the pump cycling on and off the same as the idle jump and drop? If so you could be low on Freon - Pump kicks on (idle up), line pressure doesn't rise enough so the safety switch kicks in and shuts the pump off (idle down), then it tries again.

I don't regularly shoot a glock, but having handled one of the prototypes I'd say its very close. The trigger group is very adjustable for pretravel, pull weight, and overtravel. The unit looks just like a glock and takes glock mags, so it should be excellent for dry fire. I shoot open with an STI, but I'm excited to try mine out.

Man, I'd love to have the money to shoot with you! I'm in for a $2k gun, $700 in mags, shoot 2-3 matches a month for $600/yr, and use up maybe $1-1.5k in ammo. So far no replacement parts for a years worth of shooting on a used gun, I only changed the optic mount for $120. A couple hundred dollars for cases adds up quick, and also not having to buy a conversion setup to go from my stock 9mm loading to load for my open gun saved a few hundred off the top as well. Completely not trivial when I decided to jump to open.

I won a certificate for one of these at Double Tap too. And Mike Hughes (the president) and Yong Lee were on the same squad as I was. The way the system was described, it sounds very cool. They were getting production spooled up, I can't wait to get mine.
-
That's the truth. And sometimes you get real nice once-fired stuff from guys shooting production

I'm shooting a 9 Major, which can see higher pressures than the 38 due to shorter cases. I worked up to my load using Fed primers because they are soft. Some of them flattened out quite a bit as my loads got up around 175pf, where I stopped. I settled on a nice 170pf load, then switched over to harder primers so I didn't have to worry about any flow issues. I'm currently running Wolf small rifle magnum primers and things are great. I like the CCI variants too, SR and SP. Both are a harder than Feds and probably close to WSr or WSP. I'd second G-Man's order of hardness while inserting CCI somewhere in the middle; Win SR, Wolf SR, Fed SR, Fed SPM, Win SP, Fed SP

Sure wish we would have had the camera on that one. It was good shooting with you Chris. Danno -
As a recently new shooter (to the sport) I appreciated the finger warning until I could get those instinctual reflexes mastered. I had previously indexed my finger under the frame pressing on the front of the trigger guard. I could see how some may think my finger was in the guard. After a couple warnings (immediate ones) where I am suddenly conscious of finger location, I learned to index higher on the frame completely away from the guard. Now while I thought it was good then, I could see how a more focused and motivated shooter who is 'in the zone' would not appreciate being interrupted during the COF. I would hope that an RO would have a little experience in judging a newer shooter from a seasoned one and be able to issue a warning appropriately. And by warning I mean it could be as simple as "I couldn't see your finger clearly, if it was Viagra stiff, it would help". I was recently told that it would help make things more clear if I held my gun higher while opening doors. Turns out that if I was turned a little more it may have looked like I swept myself. In this case the RO was in a good position to see that I was clear, but I'll certainly practice differently now. Danno

Just got in myself. Off to bed, read more tomorrow... -
Thanks Ron (and everyone else ), I'm not looking forward to the Hell-a-Port, but the rest looks great. Just 4 more days!

I joined USPSA last June and after a series of matches using bad magazines I managed to start in C class, but this month I'm jumping to B. Now I'm just a little sad because I was hoping to have a chance in C class at Double Tap Oh well, looks like I'll be starting at the bottom.

Welcome and what are you shooting? Maybe we'll see each other around. Danno

I believe that you get one procedural per shot after not performing the reload, not just one procedural total.
