  1. Backing off the knuckreld knob sloved the problem thanks guys.
  2. So my dillon ate up my federal small pistol primers without a single hickup. Loaded up some tula primers and switched to 9mm from 38 special and the primers are jamming constantly, upside down or sideaways. Any suggestions?
  3. Thank you tool guy! Edit. I did something similar but used a piece of glass, still came out bad. Looking at my stone I think used it/abused it too much so its not shaped properly and it cut the sear lopsided.
  4. Finally got around to installing the APEX hammer on my 627. Got the Khunhausen manual. I was filing the double action sear on a flat surface moving the stone against it both on a flat surface. I did my best but I cut the sear lopsided, when I pull the trigger you can see the hammer moving sideways in the beginning of the pull. I guess I have to get another sear. Is there a way or a tool or a jig that can help me file the damn thing flat? I gave it the right amount of letout and clearance but at this point I can "straighten" the sear as the clearance between the hammer and the DA sear will be too great.
  5. I used to do it a lot in higschool and college..
  6. I do mostly target shooting and I used to do a bunch informal USPSA type shooting with my friends and went to a couple USPSA practice matches. I want to get into USPSA shooting once I am physically able. Edit: Obviously in the Revolver division since I am a grand master of lazyness and dont feel like picking up my brass
  7. Did some indoor slow fire target shooting, too cold for my regular outdoor club and cant walk well through the snow right now. Almost have a year ago was in a really bad car accident leg surgery, 2 fingers on the trigger hand are numb shoulder/back problems. So relearning to shoot, some stuff I forgot some stuff I need to do differently. Rediscovered some things Shooting my S&W 627 and being left handed I discovered that putting my thumbs on the blast shield helps mitigate recoil better but my groups are shit. if I do the thumbs forward grip like on a semi recoil is ok and I shoot decent. If slowed down and tried to stage the trigger I shot like shit. This is my best group of the day, no staging and wiggling the sight just smooth pull while keeping it on target 2.5 inches. 2016-02-11_01-42-18 by petrov1983, on Flickr Decided to give my Dan Wesson modwl 15 6" some long overdue attention. I concentrated on trigger control (3.2lb SA pull) and only shot in SA. Pretty much all of my groups look like this, 3 or 4 shots almost touching and the rest are flyers out there. 2016-02-11_01-41-59 by petrov1983, on Flickr Accidents suck, dont get rear ened. My neurologist says that my nevers are fine and that they cant do anything about my numb fingers. Not allowed to do run and gun for a while since they cut out cartilage out of my left knee, going to PT twice a week. Session before this one was a complete waste, I was locking out one arm straight and the other one was kinda just bent and limp supprting the handgun. Once I extended both arms and made it somewhat more "isosicles" I was shooting better. Do you guys have any input on my targets?
  8. So I bought nill wooden grips for my 627 and I just noticed that I can move the grips on the butt maybe 1/8th of an inch and there is a slight clanking sound when I do it. Is that normal?
  9. Why is it welfare tumbler? Did some one else pay for it ?
  10. Solo 1000 used to be easy to find and was cheap too.
  11. I have been using n320 and Solo 1000 back to back and both are great low temperature powders that play very well with lead and coated bullets.
  12. I was born and raised in the soviet union. In 2005 I got into it to "save money", who the f*#k am I kidding I wanted another hobby. In 2007 my long lines and shortages comrade senses tingled so I bought f*#kton of components before the election started.
  13. How do you guys not get crippling arthritis? I load at least 400 rounds a sitting and shoot on a regular basis.
  14. You make a steel bar with a hole in the end that will slip fit over the pin. Put the bar over the pin and gently bend it back straight. This way you have more control over the process than if you were trying to bend it with a hammer. Also there is no impact which would be more likely to snap it off. Be advised, it may still break off, but this is your best shot at fixing it. Hey I just wanted to say thanks. My pin was bent slightly, fixed it. The hammer was still rubbing on the frame a bit. The hole on the hammer was way bigger than the pin, there was visible play. Put some shims on the side that was rubbing (from power custom) and it solved the issue.
  15. I sent back my M&P to S&W like 3 times with 0 results. At this point I wouldn't trust them to wipe their own butts much less to work on my pistols.
  16. How would you go about fixing the bent hammer pin?
  17. I am using Dillon SDB, proprietary dies. Hot glue doesnt sound too reliable or precise. Going to go try the ball end on mill. Thanks guys.
  18. Hey guys, I am loading up some bayou bullets 160 gr lead round nose bullets. The seating stem in my dillon SDB leaves a circular dent on top of the bullet. I was wondering if there was a good way to polish/machine the seating stem for a better fit?
  19. I practiced the one handed, single shot action job all thoughout high school and into college.
  20. I'm shooting almost the same recipe but I'm 3.6g of solo1000 but my brass has been trimmed to .902-.906. I have great accuracy. My too had some cylinder rotating issues after some firing. I clean the cylinder and cone face after a bunch of rounds and now do not have that issue. My PC has very little space between the cone and cylinder if anything got to dirty in there it caused the problem. Much more space in my 686 and I think too much space on my 929 That's the think, as soon as the barrel/cylinder cool down it goes back to functioning normal.
  21. Any suggestions as to which guns smith I can take it to?
  22. I thought of something else too, last I was shooting my revolver started binding after 290 rounds and I could not close the cylinder. After I let it sit and cool off a bit it was back to normal. Is that normal ?
  23. I think I will have to have a pro rework the barrel. There is some soot but no fouling or leading on the barrel. Even when I started shooting clean it was same crappy groups.
  24. No, I have not done either. Can you recommend me the measuring tools for measuring the forcing cone and the throats?
  25. I am getting 4" groups with whichester white box +p HP ammo. I pulled a bullet and there is a very light crimping ring left by the brass on the bullet.
