  1. Looking forward to it. Thanks for the heads up
  2. I have a couple of .45 clips that have the same problem. The problem is that the clip holds the round too loose and one or more of the rounds work themselves loose juuuust a little. Can't load a clip with even one round that backed out of the clip, so when you insert it, it won't "fall" in. You'll have to jiggle it until the round goes back in all the way. Try some different brands of clips. The www.moonclip.com clips seem to be the sh!t. I've never tried them though. I use clips ordered from Dillon Precision.
  3. Wow! I wish I could build my own guns like that
  4. Being member of any ethnic group is not an achievement. What you do/think/become/etc. in life makes the difference.
  5. LMAO, I guess so. He's still working on his accent though
  6. LOL, I just checked out the new rescomp site http://www.rescomp.co.za Check the speed rigs and noticed they sell the red, white 'n blue as the "All American Rig". It cracked me up because Eric G. the wonder kid from France used this rig to win the world shoot and the open US Nats All american my *ss
  7. I don't believe in "the best" and "ultimate" things, generally speaking. But in this case....there is an "ultimate belt"....Rescomps CR Speed. The shooter friendly velcro is also very cool. Really stiff. It's like they used spring steel to make the belt. http://www.rescomp.co.za/speed_belts.htm I am in no way affiliated with Rescomp BTW Just love the suff they make, especially the belt.
  8. LOL, that sounds like fun. I don't mind the butt-uglyness of parts. My competition gun looks like a POS anyways. I've already talked my gunsmith into making me some new FSs, and I happen to really like the .090" sights for plates at 15yds+. I don't think that leaves any room for a fiber.., or does it?
  9. I like Bigdawg's idea. However, the question is if your willing to pay 50 bucks to shoot with the SSquad in a big match. I would.

    Reloads

I keep the gun in my strong hand and get the clip with the weak hand.
  12. I switched from muffs to plugs recently (that sounds like something naughty form Monty Python doesn't it ) Love the plugs.
  13. LOL, well I guess I'm just a weirdo for not caring about symbolism and metaphors. I remember the first Anime I saw. It was Akira. I was 12 maybe and was watching it with my dad. I was in awe. The animation and the story were, and still are, among the best I've ever seen. Never thought about looking for anything else. I just enjoyed the whole movie. The credits start rolling and all I heard was my dad saying: "WTF was that all about?" Same thing happened when we watched The Big Lebowski together. All I asked him was: "Who cares? Did you like the movie?" He said he liked it, but the idea that there was nothing behind it left him with an unsatisfied feeling. I blame "Hollywood-type" movies for that (which, unfortunately, are not just made in Hollywood). It has conditioned us to the point to where we sit in front of a screen, "waiting" for something to happen, of which we can say: "Yeaaah...I can relate to that."
  14. Erik, why did you look for those?
  15. BB no flak intended. I just think Ron hasn't read carefully through your post I doubt he likes the frame mounted pins What you're saying makes a lot of sense. I bought my first frame mounted pin 625 revo some days ago and I must say, the trigger is great. Not too light (I somehow don't like that, and like you, don't need it) and very consistent. I also like the option of having a longer pin in those guns as well.
  16. Wow! I'm flattered. Thanks! But if I'm wrong, don't hold it against me
  17. Chad and others, Keep in mind that, although the chambers of the smaller caliber L/K-frames are smaller, the cylinders are smaller too. The material between the chargeholes is not really an issue here (make sure you get the holes chamfered though, 'cause that DOES make a difference). Reloads aren't that much harder on an L-frame. I think the one thing that DOES make a reload harder on an L/K-frame is case length of .38 special/.357 magnum cases (extraction). But, since we're discussing only short rounds here, I don't think it will make a big difference. As a matter, I think I'd pick the 686 in .38super (and that means something, coming from a 625-loony). You have the reloading gear. You're familiar with the cartridge. And the gun IS softer to shoot. But, whatever choice you make, in the end the gun will not make the difference Good luck choosing

Good chance that your still "on the trigger" during recoil (meaning your holding the trigger back to control recoil). It's hard to separate controlling the recoil from pulling the trigger. Try focussing on that for a couple of shots. Do a little research on where the triggerfinger is when you're in full recoil.
  19. I think Ron nailed it. Find gear that works for you (!!!), no matter how expensive or inexpensive it is. Guys like Miculek, Sevigny and Grauffel are living proof that $$$ does not equal better per se. They have gear that works for them.
  20. The tape on top of the slide is good to hold the slide while you shoot, to keep the muzzle down you know. And you'll get used to the front sight cutting through your hand after about 5,000 rounds Some people use the tape on the top of the slide for gripping the gun with the strong hand, when they have to shoot weak hand from a "gun in holster-position". Grip the slide with the strong hand, and draw, and transfer the gun to your weak hand.
  21. Flex, I second Wolff on this. Good springs and they know what they're talking about. Also www.smith-wessonforums.com might give you some insights on the matter.
  22. Plus, you have to be aware of the effect that winning a stage has on your mental game. Don't "sit back and relax" after a stage win. Or over-confidence...also a great thing to have when you've nailed that 60 point stage. Winning a stage WILL influence your mental state.
  23. I use a timer and see what the split between the last shot before and the first shot after the reload is.
