  1. Check out http://www.schuemann.com/aet4.htm Let the man explain in his own words.
  2. I replaced a regular Scheuman with an AET in my .40. I went with the AET because I was assured that I would not have to ream the chamber. This turned out to be false. The old barrel was better than I can shoot, and the new one is no worse, so thats all I have to say about that. I have noticed better feeding with the AET. It used to be that I had to maintain a particular attitude on the top round in the mags. If I let the lips of the mag get out of tune, We be Jammin'. Now I find that if the rounds feed up, they will chamber. The angle of the top round is almost irrelevant. For IPSC, almost any barrel has enough accuracy. Better reliability is where I think the AET has the edge.
  3. Hey! You have my REAL NAME. I think I am hanging it out, more than most!
  4. A "welfare" prize is one that is not based on performance.
  5. Sorry Chuck, they will just put out twice as many targets. Those stupid 8 shot arrays will be uglier. I once saw a shot fired where the bullet fractured exiting the barrel. Half into one target, half 2 feet away into a no shoot. Virginia count! Can you score that in a way that will make everyone happy? The answer is to score the targets by the rules. Ignore the whining. Have some backbone, and accept that nothing is perfect in this world.
  6. In Production, you can change the sights, as long as they are still notch and post. Adjustables should be OK. You can put griptape, or a grip sock on the Ruger grips, and be good to go in Production. If that matters.
  7. Skeeter is wrong. I hate to say it, and its no longer relevant, but minor hits to the "B" zone scored less, because they are worth less. Check out the writings of Cirillo and others.
  8. Were you injured when you started Be.com? This sure has turned into a monster. I am in wonderment of what might be next. Get well fast.
  9. I did not see the show, but it sounds like they are not using a casing , in other words, no brass. I think its much better not to have to get rid of an expended case, before loading up. I once heard of a version that they were working on that would fire shells with a cumbustable case, or a special missile from the same barrel.
  10. I have seen a few cases that were cracked in the web area, and separating. My take is that any brass that needs more than a Lee U-die, should not be reloaded. I toss any case that I can ID as having been roll sized, because I don't know how much it was worked. .40 s&w brass is too cheap to re-use anything questionable. I pick up cases at the range that have me convinced that some real idiots are out there.
  11. I hate all the Feel-Good Do-Nothing crap that we are stuck with. Some nitwit came up with an idea that sounded good, but does not work, yet it is still law. 90% of the stuff in the recycle bin goes to the landfill. It just goes there in a different truck. Makes me proud to be saving the planet.
  12. "Largest Assets"? You are supposed to wet down the T Shirt. Thus the name. I think your contest has gone downhill, and taken an unfortunate turn. Winner in the best cleavage catagory, is the Norgeman.
  13. At this years A8race, I overheard Doug Koenig talking to JJ about a misfire he had. Koenig said that he has seen primers come thru without anvils, and that might have been the cause. I use the flip tray, look at every primer, and have not yet got a bad one. I can see loading buckets of practice ammo with the auto filler, but Major Match Ammo?
  14. I'm really glad that EricW didn't say Uranus. (Edited by Rich Bagoly at 8:29 pm on Dec. 20, 2002)
  15. You can embroider Super Grand Master on your PJ's anytime you want to. We know who the Top Dogs are. Calling them by a new name won't change anything.
  16. You will need to Chrono. It is the only way to know. I had two p-14's that showed 80-90fps. between them, with the same load. Every gun is different.
  17. You people are missing the big picture. It's the gun that shoots. The shooter is just a name, an ego. It took a team to fire a gun such as this. Did it really matter who tripped the mechanism? (Edited by Rich Bagoly at 4:45 pm on Dec. 13, 2002)
  18. Ask before you do something goofy. It can save a lot of embarassment. If the officials get porky about it, you've found a match that needs better officials.
  19. What kind of mags where you using in the BUL?
  20. I am guessing that the Para/STI tubes are the same as regular STI mags, with the catch hole relocated. The tubes made by Para have less taper, which gets you the extra round. They are too wide just down from the top, to fit the STI frame.
  21. Ooh Limericks, the American Haiku. Decembers' question was hot Shooter or gun makes the shot? Be one with the gun The difference is none! What a nice prize, Thanks a lot!
  22. Around here open guns are known as "Girly Guns". Lavender scent would be just right for that lightweight pink stuff.
  23. You can't win a slot for 2003 Nats in 2003. 2003 slots are given for performance in 2002's Matches. If you did not win a slot yet, get your name on the list as soon as you can. Then win one for 2004. USPSA explains the slot system here; http://www.uspsa.org/2002_National_Slot_Policy.html (Edited by Rich Bagoly at 3:29 pm on Nov. 24, 2002) (Edited by Rich Bagoly at 3:30 pm on Nov. 24, 2002)
