  1. Benelli's do not like a lot of extra weight on them. Having side saddles and other stuff may cause some problems, but I can't give you specifics. A lot of it has to do with how you hold the Benelli and the type of stance you use. I've seen plenty of Benelli's that are completely reliable with all of the extra gear. If you're experiencing malfunctions, try removing the extra weight and see if that solves your problem. Erik
  2. I'm running a Stainless steel barrel with a 1/9 twist. I use a handloaded Sierra 69gr at around 2,900 fps. I think the 69's are the best all around load. Relatively flat trajectory, they fight the wind pretty good, and they've got enought energy to still give a flash target a good smack out to 400 yards, which is important when you've got someone trying to spots hits for you. It makes it easier for them to call a hit. Erik
  3. Sgtsvi, Very nice setup. What is the barrel diameter under the handguard? I'll expect to see it tearing up the 3-gun circuit very soon. Erik
  4. Nice setup, it should serve you very well. Erik
  5. Weaver 1-3x20 Classic Variable. It has a true one power reticle. Cost is about $150. Here's the link to Midway USA. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/...leitemid=183610 Erik
  6. JD, Where is SC are you? I'm in Atlanta. If you think your group would be interested, I will come up for a one day basic competition class. PM me for the details. How many people do you think would be interested? Erik
  7. +100 I've been extremely happy with the SS barrels I've used from DPMS. Both of mine are .5 to .75 MOA, easy. For the money, I think they are the best value (SS barrels) on the market today. I wouldn't hesitate to use another one. Erik
  8. Sorry it took so long to get to this and nothing I could say would really put into context the immense and wonderful job, under what could, at the very least, be described as probably the worst weather ever encountered at a major competititon. I would like to thank all of the RO's and staff at the 2006 SMM3G for going well above and beyond the call of duty. Your perserverance, dedication, and committment to excellence, prevented what could have easily been a disasterous match. Again, I humbly offer my thanks and a promise to pass along your monumental efforts to all who would listen in an effort to help sell-out the 2007 SMM3G in one day (provided I still get a slot ) Seriously, thank you all. Erik Lund
  9. Mig is correct. I used a DPMS 308 with the barrel cut down to 18" and re-contoured to my specs with a PRI free-float tube. I used a TTI (tti-intl.com) eliminator compensator and standard iron sights. I'll try to get some good pictures tonight and post them tomorrow. Erik

    My New Rifle

Very nice, though it is begging to be suppressed. Erik
  11. It was Mike Seeklander from the United States Shooting Academy. Erik
  12. Kurt, You might seen some iron on my rifle MUCH sooner than you expect. Erik
  13. Thank you all for the very nice birthday wishes. I really appreciate y'all taking the time to drop in. It's more than some members of my family could do. 37, but I have the body of a 45 year old. That is 100%, absolutely true! Thanks Mig, I'll try to do you proud. Erik
  14. Will the match recognize major/minor power factors or is everyone scored straight up? Erik
  15. +1 I wasn't ready for the side bolt gun match last year, but I was looking forward to it this year. Please re-consider. Erik
  16. Can anyone confirm if you have to shoot all three days? I've got to travel for work on Sunday and I can only shoot the match if I can finish up on Saturday. Erik
  17. Jake, You are an insult to the word "textbook." Erik
  18. Dude, it's time to move to the US. That's getting beyond ridiculous. Erik
  19. If I were 10 years younger, I'd give it a try. Erik "Y'know, I'm training to be a cage fighter!"
  20. Guys, One thing to consider when you're setting up these drills is the distance you're attempting to move. Make sure you have enough distance between shooting arrays to take at least three steps. Anything less than three steps are positioning steps. Positioning steps will not allow you to properly evaluate your techniques. I would use a minimum of 7 yards between arrays. What you are really trying to evaluate is which technique will allow you to accelerate better. Acceleration and deceleration are what dominate good movement technique, not speed. Proper technique allows for efficient movement and maximum acceleration. Erik
  21. TXsouthpaw, Nice VEPR. I'm thinking about getting one myself. Derek45, I like you taste in AK's Erik
  22. norbs007, I would contact Benny. He can tell you exactly what he did with the rear sight and the vent rib. Middleman, Yeah, I took a little creative liberties with "The Punisher." And just for you....."he, he, he, he said dildo!, he,he,he" Benny, C'mon, I need all the help I can get. I need the crutch. Erik
  23. +1 on the 6004's. I use mine for work and play. The newer versions have a leg shroud that is more flexible. Erik
