  1. You may already be doing something similar but in our indoor range with cable operated hangers I bought a bunch of small tarps and clips to hang them from the wires to create "rooms". Even though you can only move laterally, if might help to have it feel like you are going down the hallway with targets in the rooms. We have also done charging and retreating targets that we manually start moving as soon as the buzzer is pressed.
  2. I have Arrendondos and like them but if you ever want to try a magwell, you'll need the TF.
  3. Even with the extended base pad the compact 9 was still a 2 finger grip for me. I could start with my pinky on it but after a couple of shots it always slipped off and under. The extended base pad does not curve forward at all like some. I, too, saw little difference carrying the compact and the full size but saw a big difference shooting them.
  4. I understand most people's distaste for stage guns but at the 2010 MultiGun Nationals I had the great luck to work the stage where all of the competitors started by firing a 10-round strip through a fully automatic M240 with a Surefire suppresser. During the whole match we had just one failure and all it needed was a quick cleaning and lubing and it then ran fine again. One of the dangers of a stage gun is that any failure becomes a reshoot becase it is the match's problem rather than the competitor's problem.
  5. BTW, I have flown through San Diego, LAX, and SFO with no problems. Actually, the TSA agent in SFO told me that my one-sided lock on the S&W case wasn't technically sufficient (she still let me go) and she was right...I tried prying open the case and I was able to get the pistol out even with the lock on the case. I drilled another hole and solved that problem. I am considering taking the Pelican in the future...anybody ever "lost" theirs in transit when it wasn't inside another piece of luggage? I usually put my locked S&W case inside a piece of ratty, abused luggage that noone would ever look twice at.
  6. Gelnn and your-other-brother-Glenn.....you guys shooting/working the SC state match?
  7. Cool! Thanks for taking the time to document that.
  8. At A6 a couple of years ago we had a complicated stage that had many people skipping a target that could only be engage from one position. Since we had 3 ROs working the stage we had one that would keep an eye out for that target (and a few others) that were frequently skipped.
  9. Welcome, Pepper! How old are you? My 14 year old also shoots USPSA Pistol and 3-gun.
  10. Welcome! We're having 3-gun matches at Pinetucky Gun Glub near Augusta March 17th, June 16th, September 15, and November 24th this year.
  11. I have a friend in Sierra Vista...he says to be careful when it gets dark. He has 40 acres or so and finds discarded trash every night.
  12. May I suggest, "We be too busy fo yo slack ass!"?
  13. Greenville Gun Club has hosted some really good matches but doesn't have anything scheduled (according to their website): http://www.greenvillegunclub.com/pistol_3Gun_index.html Pinetucky Gun Club (SW of Augusta) will be having 3 gun matches the third Saturdays of March, June, and September (as well as the 4th Saturday in November). http://pinetucky.com South River in Covington, GA puts on several great 3-gun matches each year. I don't see anything currently scheduled but keep an eye on: http://georgiaipsc.com/index.php/2011/09/23/south-river-october-uspsa-multigun-match/#more-1475
  14. Any options on the base pads? I have compact base pads on all of my mags and that would yet another difference.
  15. The application can be downloaded from: http://csrapistol.com BTW.... I WANNABE!!
  16. Yeah, you sounded VERY lucky. He was a good guy. When he went to get them out of the console I told him that they were loaded and he told me, "They wouldn't be much good if there weren't."
  17. BTW, the 3-gun matches south of Greenville have been cancelled. I hope that wasn't in your plans.
  18. FWIW, last year I drove down to the Port of Jacksonville to take the family on a cruise. Once I was already inside the gate I saw the sigh that said no firearms (or weapons...don't remember). I told the girl at the gate that I had a couple guns in the car and asked if I should just go park in the other lot outside the gate? She said no, just park over there and we'll have one of our officers come talk to you. He was cool, unloaded them, ran the serial numbers, then said to leave them unlocked in the console of the truck and have a nice cruise. I wouldn't count on being that lucky and wouldn't suggest bringing guns into a port area like some dufus did.
  19. Of all the weeks to show up for a match....I get there and was told, "Tonight is the banquet". Oh well, maybe next time.
  20. Am I the only one hearing Clarence Carter now? Well....you *might* be the only one with that song burned onto all 17 tracks of your favorite CD...
  21. Cool, I will try to make that. I'm not sure how awake I will be after getting up at 3:30 Eastern time, though. Thank you!
  22. Hey Rob, BOLS isn't a problem for a MA resident with permits but what about an out-of-stater? I was warned to not even bring any guns when I fly into/out of Boston.
  23. I bought all of these 10 round mags and need to use them!
