  1. thread drift how about letting sig 220's in single stack they are double action which is not a advantage but it would be a nice place to shoot one if you had one.
  2. currently EAA only imports large frame guns (meaning the magazine is large enough to fit 38 super 10mm and 45 acp) these guns are notorious for not feeding 9mm properly I dont know if anybody has a good solution for this yet, I have seen a guy shooting a custome match in 9mm at some local matches and I think he was abel to load to capacity but from what I read this is not normaly the case. If anybody can help it would be Henning you can find him in the vendor area he is the best. Mike
  3. I was going to make a coment about how my kel-tech p11 is smaller and holds more ammo and only weighs one more ounce but I went and played with a LCP today and it's trigger is awsome and now I want one
  4. If I had to guess I would say small frame it looks like one of the old CZ style frames. Also if it has a metal floor plate on the magazine they are more likely small frame. But like everything no guarantee Hennings measurments are the for sure method to ID Mike
  5. for 40 lead major WST is the best I found for smoke and feel. I misplaced my load sheet but you can find lots of data on the reloding section, just remember your oal will affect your charge weight.
  6. I to suffer from the go to fast blues mostly on my same target splits my transitions suck but that is a different story. I recently started shooting SS minor and Production I started uspsa shooting last spring limited major and learned to accept alpha charli or two charli because it was quick and only cost one or two points now in minor my scoring is so low that I am not placeing where I would normaly. I think I got to the type 2 focus that Houngan talked ablout and had it reinforced by the major scoring. shooting minor I will definaltly need to learn to watch the sights better. Mike
  7. Revopop that is perfect thank you I think I will order one on Monday thanks
  8. Thanks Alan that is what I was looking for Jeff the gun I was looking at is allready under $300 so it can't lose too much value unless it totaly fell apart. But I do get what you are saying and I realy want a 610 smith (I have a 10mm problem) but I am way short on funds for that thanks for the quick replies
  9. I have been playing with the idea of trying out the revolver division but don't want to invest a bunch of money before I know I like it. So I saw a nice condition Rossi 357 at the shop for a good price and my main concern was would a Rossi hold up to uspsa duty long enough to figure out if I like the devision enough to upgrade equipment? I know there are better guns out there but I am on a tight budget.
  10. Check your crimp it sounds like when you adjusted the dies you may have left the crimp a little larger. I have done this to myself before and had the same result case almost chambers but stops just short but can be pushed in.
  11. I had a similar experience in my first matches, sights what sights, now it depends the target whatever sight picture I needed for the first shot I get (or try to get) I get for the second shot exept for closer shots that I trust my index and timing for. Practice as much as you can and pay atention to what the sights do.
  12. I'll give you the same greeting I got at my second match. Welcome to the poor this is the best place for any info you need just search away and have fun
  13. It all depends on what you like. Red dots are great for focusing on the target and keeping both eyes open without double vision, a problem you won't have but target focus is nice. Being blind in one eye could help with iron sights because you won't have to close one eye or learn to not get double vision with both eyes open like most people do. So my two cents worth is go with whAt you like your handicap is not a issue either way.
  14. Splits are not the key to shooting well. I am a low mid c class shooter. At a recent match I was running .14ish splits on close targets faster splits than the GM on our squad, let's just say I could have run zero splits and I would still have finished with half his score.
  15. I shoot eaa's but mostly the same. I grip right thumb on safety left thumb base up under the rh thumb and safety. I have some grip tape on the side of the frame in front of the slide stop as a tactile reminder to keep my thumb off the slide. One thing to remember is if you are looking at the frame slide joint for a referance point on your grip it is higher on these guns as the slide rides inside the frame.
  16. I shot the evil star last summer at my second ever match. It was set very similar to the video but with 4 plates so it spun faster when you opened the door. I thought it was great fun and you could not have got me to quit after that if yoy tried, what other sport let's you shoot at stuff like that? Same with the polish plate rack, got to shoot it at area 1 this year lots of fun if you get it right still lots of fun if you get it wrong. I also just got a guy from work to his first match we had the evile star he shot till he ran out of ammo, he was not put off he is just going to shoot limited untill he gets more mags. The crazy stuff just makes the sport more fun
  17. I say do it and prove the old adage that it's the Indian not the arrow I just feel sorry for the guys that get beat by you they definatly can't blame their guns
  18. Contact Henning (EAA Tangfolio in the vendor tent portion of the main forum page). He will either have them or know where to get one.
  19. You may want to try adding a little extra overtravel and give it another try. I had a light strike problem when I adjusted my over travel stop to close and it did not let the fireing pin safety come all the way off. I am using this gun for racing not carry so I just pulled the fireing pin safety out but adding a little over travel also soved the problem. Hope you get it sorted out they are great guns to shoot
  20. I went to the match Saturday morning and the armor was great he replaced the trigger assy, recoil spring assy and disconector in about 10 min I had my pistol back and was shooting the match. I couldent be happier with the service I got and the match was fun too. Thanks chuck for getting me there
  21. Thanks Chuck that is a great idea. I will do that.
  22. I have a old G20 (first gen no finger grooves) that has started giving me a light strike problem. I have tried it with both the striker spring and with the new one that came with a wolf recoil spring. the stock and a 22lb recoil spring so it is staying loked up. I have tried removing the striker safety to rule that out. and checked for free floating of the striker in the tunnel (it will climk back and after pulling the trigger) I have looked at the tip of the striker and can see no damage there either. when I do the pencile down the barrel test it only goes jumps about a inch. so I am out of ideas everything looks like it should work but it only goes off about 60% of the time. any help would be greatly appriciated.
  23. Thanks for the heads up I am going to give them a try
  24. I use 358 lead rn bullets in my 38 super single stack gun and they work better than 9mm sized bullets I load them with regular clays and they are very soft shooting I am working up a similar load for my 9mm witness right now. I have a bunch of clays and nothing else is left localy avalible so I am hoping I can make Minor safely but I may have to change powders to get there. I started using some lasercast 147's but they tumbled the few (50) 158's I have shot through this gun have worked great I just ended up testing with a dead battery in my crono.
  25. as long as you start low and work up you should be fine with the components you have. I have in the past run small rifle primers in my 38 super (loaded to minor) to use them up and they work fine just make sure you start low and work up with your powder charge as the max load will be different. I am working on a .358 158g lrn load for my 9mm ( I have 2 38 super guns that like these better than 9mm size bullets) so far it likes them better than the .356 sized 147g ltc bullets I tried first the 147 tumbled but the 158 hasn't yet. using universal clays you shpould have no problem developing a nice soft safe load that makes powerfactor. I am trying to get to minor with regular clays and the 158's but I dont know if I will make it without going over presure
