  1. Additional info!! I really have been thinking of adding side holes in the first chamber of the trubor comp with the one on the left at 5/16 inch and on the right @3/16 inch to try and stabilize the left torque. What if these holes were drilled @ 30 degrees up vs. horizontal and entering the chamber at the lowest point. Has anyone gone this far and were your results positive? I too have added two poppleholes in the barrel and like them. Thanks for your replys, Old John
  2. Trubor modifications Have any of you open shooters with a trubor done any modifications to the comp? I was wondering if I should try and improve what others at STI spent years working on. Thanks, Old John
  3. At what time did you get on the wait list that you have received a call? Thanks, Old John
  4. I did the math on price difference between MG 124 hp in 355 and the least expensive 355 coated fp I could find. I found for a match using 250 rounds you would be giving up less than $3.00 to shoot first class bullets. Cheaper than a coke and candy bar to feel good about your ammo and have it looking cool in your box! It's MG only for me. Same hole accuracy. Old John
  5. Crap, Back clicked and paid twice for open. Guess I'll get two shots at a slot?? Hope things go better at tomorrows match. Luck to all. Old John

  7. What do you mean by not feeding properly? Not getting to the ramp or over the top of the ramp. Are you getting good ejections? What tubes are you using and were they tunned? What is the bullet oal? Your answers may help identify the problem. Old John

  18. Try an STI extractor. I had the same problem. Tighten (bend) the STI extractor until it holds an empty case in place with the slide off. It should take 2/3 lbs pressure to removed the case by hand towards the ejection port. Worked for me. Old John
  19. 180 grain Montana gold 3.9 tight group 824 fps= 148 pf @ 82 degrees STI 5” 40 The oal was 1.185 and light recoil spring 9 # This is information only that worked for me. Old John
  20. What spec are you trying to stay under in oal? You may want to ask what some 9mm major loaders doing for oal. Could you over compress the powder keeping under someones published number? Just a thought. Old John
  21. On my 2x7 I had 4 dots (6 minute) placed around the "thin" cross hairs so that @ 100 yds a 6 inch plate touched each inside point on five power. At 20 yds the lower dot is the point of impact (2/3 power)which works for me in 3 gun for fast head shots inside of 30 yds. See the dot in close and bang. Old John
  22. There were no Mike's at this match by the MD or RO's. All matches should be scored against this one. Great going to all! Heck do it again next week and we'll drive the 700 miles again. Old John
  23. I called our host Brian over a year ago when I wanted to start loading. He advised the 550B and I now load 9"s , 40's, 38 super, 223 & 38's. I crank out over 500 40's per hour and the 9's are faster. I would not trade my 550b for a 650 even money. Call Brian. Old john
