  1. Are there many spots left Need to check my schedule to make sure i can make it before i sign up
  2. It wasnt that you were able to move down, it was that they just made the averages where they wouldnt move up. Ie shoot some bad ones and the shoot a good one when it counts and the bad ones take care of the good one average wise. It can be somewhat done here just blow the classifiers and shoot the matches that have a decent table yet arnt bring you up
  3. If cost is a concern the 5.11 bladetech holster is a good holster for the money. It isnt a DOH holster and fits like the regular holsters would. They make them specifically for the glock 34/35 so your not having the barrel hang out the bottom like alot of the cheaper ones that fit the 17/22 as well. Here is a link to one thats 30 bucks shipped. http://www.opticsplanet.net/511-blade-tech...lsters-rhs.html
  4. I would do a combination of the 2. Each division top say 3 are awarded prizes based on finish the rest are done in a drawing fashion. I haven't shot this game long but I have shot alot of competition skeet for a while and awarding prizes based on class wins has alot of cheating problems. I have seen a guy classed D and E ie lowest class, with low 80s averages shoot a couple local targets only shoots and shoot his low 80s or worse. Then a big shoot comes along he walks out there in D and E class and starts shooting 98+ in every event and wins every event for his class so 5 individual events + 2 events for the 400 targets and 500 targets combined event and won them by a good deal. He walked away from this shoot with a 1100 target shotgun custom made for the shoot and about 30 flats of ammo. Came back the next year and does it again. Also, this individual was a master class sporting clays shooter that did this one. There are other people doing the exact same thing in any sport of any class out there. Blow the classifiers and stay down there in the lower classes. Top couple places in dividion prizes awarded by finish and trophys etc for the classes and then random drawing for the rest of the prizes. It awards both the top shooters and helps eliminate the benefit of staying down in a class lower than you belong in.
  5. Just remember the lighter the gun the more it is going to recoil for you. The reason the skeet guns don't kick much at all is if you weigh the top shooters guns you wont find a 1 under 10 pounds. The one I was shoting weighed 12 3/4 pounds. The monte carlo stocks are actually a very good stock to use for all of the clay target sports as the gun will not hit the cheek even with the heavy loads unless the pitch is off no matter where you put your face on the stock. If recoil is a concern shoot ligher loads. There is no reason to shoot the cannons off as they really hurt you more than help you. Krueger was shooting light target loads for years and was managing to win with them. Skeet shooters are going alot to 20 ga for 12 ga or 1oz 12 ga loads. I know when I was shooting skeet big time I shot 1oz in 12 ga and doubles all the time and they would destroy any target out there. The recoil over time causes alot more problems than a little more shot out there or a little faster shot. When you are missing a target that extra shot wouldnt have made a difference as misses generally are a fundamental error and are missed by a good distance not a couple inches To the guy who liked the DT10, have a look for a use beretta ASE. They are the guns the dt10 replaced in this country and were made in the shop with their SO guns and not with the production 68X series like the DT10s are. They have a very similare feel and are alot more gun for the money. The dt10s arent a bad gun but are a little high for what you get
  6. For multigun time plue is a USPSA approved scoring per the rule book. That is what I was referring to in the post about minor being a benefit. Our state is considering using that scoring for the state shoot which if they do Im sure there will be alot more 9mm limited guns out there than usual
  7. I have a set that isnt quite the same feel as a 2011 but it is MUCH fatter than a standard 1911 grip and has almost a palm swell that fills the the hand very well and makes it feel closer to a wide body gun. Ill post some pictures online when I can get some up. They have almost a volcanic rock texture to them and are very easy to get a grip on. Guy in Northern KY makes them and they feel really nice
  8. Minor could be an advantage in Limited if they do a time plus scoring where there is no major or minor 2 hits or 1A to nutralize which we shot at a 3 gun match here. If they use that scoreing for the state match im putting the conversion barrel in my 35 and getting the extra rounds for sure. Other than that major is the way to go
  9. If someone wants to cheat they are going to cheat. The fair way is to go from the mags at random. If hes using that ammo on his belt he has every intention of using it in the gun. The rules arnt there to penalize someone for sharing a range bag with a wife or someone else. In that case the chance of you drawing major ammo is 50% for both of them even if one is shooting minor is a 50 50. If someone really wanted to cheat who is to say which range bag their ammo comes from. They could just as easily have their bag full of 40 major and let you draw away from their bag and really get their ammo from their buddys bag who is shooting 40 minor. Going from the belt avoids this. How are you going to say your not going to use it when its on your belt ready to go
  10. On what ammo is avaliable to you then why not randomly draw 8 rounds from anyones bag on the squad as you could just as easily have your ammo in there as you could your own bag. Where do you draw the line. Heck why not anyone there in attendance at the match as there is a possibility you could use some of their ammo. If the ammo is on the belt it is actually being used and has the intent of being used or it wouldnt be on there. If its in the bag it dosent really mean it is being used by the shooter who is getting credit for the ammo. Look at 3 gun matches especially. How many times do you see 2+ people and I have seen 4 + people sharing a cart with the gear in it. Does that mean they can select any round from the cart to use for any shooter thats in the cart because they may have access to it. Throw another wrench in it. I know alot of the carts have ammo holders on them to store gear etc and a range bag is not always used. Does that make the whole cart fair game to anyone who has access to it since it is basically a big range bag. If its on the belt its fair game, if its not then its not.
  11. Are they pretty crisp or a little mushy? What benefit is paying the extra for the lightened firing pin
  12. Are they preset when they leave the factory or is adjustment required to get them to work correctly. What trigger pull are they when they leave the factory in the fulcrum kit without the firing pin. I have one of the Vanek jobs currently but was considering changing it out to the aluminum triggers
  13. MY guess would be glock listed the weight a little light. With alot of people going after light weight for carry duty etc it makes sense for glock to list it a little light
  14. I use a full rifle length ACE stock on my tactical gun and are really satisfied with it. For my limited gun im shooting a CAA collapsible which isnt a bad stock but not as solid as the ace
  15. Any word on the score postings. Very good match as usual. Think im probibally the only one who liked the 5 stand though lol
  16. They are a pretty smooth pad which migh be good for low gun shooting. They are very simple to install and are not ment to be ground. Unscrew old pad, screw on 2 screw in plasic bars, place pad over bars, slide bar across to hold in about 5 min. They are a decent pad at best. If your looking for max recoil reduction look at the trapdude gooey pads. They arnt cheap and require fitting but really soak up the recoil.
  17. What keeps the front of the mag well on the dawson ice mag wells up on the gun and not wobbleing around. I have seen another mag well that is brass and it wobbles around very bad in the front of the gun as there is nothing to hold it on. I think its a glockmeister. Just checking to see how solid it is and what keeps the front from wobbeling before i buy one
  18. He dosent have a website, have to just contact him via PM under suddendeath. Jeffs mags are amazing and have never had a problem with mine at all and he is a real class act to deal with. Look at the 3gunners in KY and the surrounding area and most of them have one of his mags in their bag for the longer courses.
  19. Was just checking the scores, how would I have had a 500 for the time on stage 7 which I believe was the 100 yard stage.
  20. I am the exact opposite my scope is usually set in the lower power unless I really have to stick it up for the longer stuff or mid rang tight shots ie head shots around no shoots.
  21. Didn't have trouble with the disapearing targets here being a skeet/sporting clays shooter and managed to get all mine (the one in the sun was kind of tricky). Just seems if there are many of them in a stage they will have a large impact on the scores
  22. Very nice match. Good challenging shots for the whole match. The only thing I really didn't like was the time plus scoring system. Like the regular scoring system much better. With the disapearing targets that arn't really disappearing targets now hold a much bigger portion of the score especially when there are 4 of them on some stages and 10 seconds each one you miss.
  23. I like the feel of the jard trigger over the jp trigger any day.
  24. I like the Jard triggers even better than the JP
