  2. I just think it is a matter of preference. I personally shoot with both eyes open strong and weak hand. I dont see any benfit in closing my dominant eye when shooting weak hand.
  3. I enjoy reading post of this forum and I see comments people make about other forums but they never mention the name. So what are some other good informative forums.
  4. I have AT&T and the iphone and have no complaints. This phone is the greatest invention since sliced bread. It does anything you want. I downloaded a shottimer from the apps store day before yesterday. Havent been able to try to it on the range yet but it works great for dry firing. It has a start delay that you can set from 0 -10 secs. it also has a par time setting if you want to work on your draw time. I worked in telecommunications for AT&T for a while and it all depends on what area you are in. Different companies have more cell towers in one city than in others. I know AT&T has great coverage in the dallas area since this is where I worked mostly. Sprint hardly has any towers in that area. The reason you drop calls when on 3g is that some towers have been upgrade with the new software and radios while other towers have not. for instance, you are driving down the interstate talking and your cell phone is getting the signal from a tower with the 3g technology and as you drive down the road you enter the area of a tower with only edge, that causes the call to be disconnected. Once all the towers have been upgraded this will not be a problem.
  5. Just downloaded the app for the iphone. Going to check it out on sunday to see if it is accurate
  6. Hey guys i want to shoot this match. can we sign up online so i can get added to a squad
  7. Thats pretty cool. I can't believe how big she is. Had to be frickin cool to hold her!
  8. before my current job i cut grass for 8 years. I had two lawnmowers throughout those 8 years. For the first two years I had a craftsman. the remaining 6 years I had an Ariens. It is made by Gravely. I bought it in 2002 and I still use it today for my own yard. I cut my grass for the first time this year two weeks ago and after it was sitting in my garage all winter without me winterizing it, i pushed the primer ball three times and it started on the first crank. From personal experience I will always buy one of these mowers if this one ever craps out on me. I was cutting 37 yards a week and i did that many yards for about five years. So that goes to show you the amount of hours i have on this mower. Good luck
  9. Front site is the best to focus on. It does take time to get use too. I have been shooting for a little over a year now and it keeps on getting easier and easier everytime I shoot a match to focus on my front site. It pays off too, I shot the double tap match last month, my first big national match, and I placed 4th in b-class. Practice and shooting every weekend is what helped me the most and I also dry fire while at home picking different spots on the wall to work on transition.

  11. I think this is going to be my weekend project, or more like sunday if the rain is going to be as bad as they say. Thanks for the info. Saves me from having to pay someone else to do it.
  12. I had the pleasure shooting in squad 21 with Dave, Glenn, Scott and the Jamaican crew. This was my first big USPSA match and had a wonderful time. Dave is right on point with everything that went on stage 12. It was just as frustrating for everyone on squad 21. Look forward to shooting a couple more major matches this year and hopefully bring home a trophy for winnnig my class. thanks to all the Ro's and MD. great match and looking forward to next year.
  13. Marcin C. Check out the ropic yet another barrel fitting question. It is about three or four topics down from this one. It will explain everything you need to know
  14. Well, I just received my gun back for the manufacturer today and they said that they changed the linked, put a new slide stop and cut down the horizontal surface on the barrel in order to adjust the timing. They said that they ran about 50 rounds through it and no issues. Of course if wouldnt happen with just 50 rounds. It was around 3000 that the issue showed up originally. Going to put a few 100 through it this weekend at double tap so hopefully STI fixed the issue and it doesnt show up again in another 3000 rounds.
  15. I am having the same issue with my 1911. I shot Johnson County two weekends ago and as I checked the gun for clearing when I went to bag it a piece of the slide stop fell on the ground. I had stockton look at it to figure out the issue and we found that the frame was cut back to much causing the link to stretch. When we put in a new slide stop the gun would not cycle freely. We had to push on the front of the barrel in order to get it to cycle. Sent the gun to the manufacturer and am awaiting a response to the problem and their solution.
  16. I myself have purchased the old style holster for my sti and before I drilled the trigger guard I tried it without the pin. It will not, I repeat it will not work without the pin. Drilling the trigger guard was a piece of cake and for a price of $65 that I paid for the holster it was worth every penny. No need to spend $150 for the new one. Hope this helps.
  17. They could tell you that everything is alright and that our balance sheet is strong, and then when you go into work on Monday morning you find out that you now work for Citibank............
  18. didnt even think to ever try reloading with dirty brass. Didnt want to break the golden rule!!!!!
  19. I have the STI Eagle 5.0. I have had it since Februaury. I went to Dawson Precision to pick it up personally and Dave hit a 6" steel plate at 40 yards on the first shot ever down the barrel. The gun has been flawless and accurate. Was going to get Dave to tune it but didnt have the funds at the time. I cant imagine what else he can do to it. My fiance bought the gun for me for my birthday along with range bag, CR Speed belt, (3) mag holders, CR Speed holster and (4) 140mm mags. The total price was $2,500. I wouldnt recommend the sti mags though. I found 3 SV tuned mags from a friend that I paid $250 for. They had grams base pads. springs and followers. 2 of the mags holds 19 reloadable and 1 I can cram 20 in to start the stage with 21. I was told by a few different shooters that the SV mags are better because of the design.
  20. i had the same problem with my 550 and backing the center bolt out solved it for me
