Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Hello everyone and merry belated Christmas to you all. I am a newby so thanks in advance for your patience and help. I have a newly acquired STI Range Master and need to purchase a competition holster for it. Being a little limited in the budget department,(buying the STI saw to that), I have come accross a used old-style Ghost holster with the trigger guard pin. I do not want to drill my gun for a pin however, as it is nickel plated and I don't want to make a starting point for delaminating or bubbling of the nickel (plus I'm just not keen on drilling the trigger guard). I have been told by the seller that the pin is removeable and the holster will work fine without it. I do not have access to this type of holster to see how they work and whether the gun will be secure enough for my needs/liking without the pin. Although the price for this used holster is within my budget, I would hate to dish out cash for something that won't cut the mustard and that I'll have to replace. I live in Australia so second hand competition holsters don't come up very often. Can you guys and gals help me out with knowledge about these older-style Ghost holsters, how they secure the gun and your thoughts on whether it's a viable piece of gear when used without the pin. Also, your opinions on good competition holsters other than the top-of-the-line CR-Speed, Ghost etc as I just can't affort the $ at this time Thanks again.
