One of my co-workers has several of them and is good friends with Dave. They run. Period. But for me, the triggers are too heavy and I prefer adjustable sights. So, IMHO, they are great carry guns, not so great competition guns.
Wilson has one on sale for $42. I ordered it yesterday. Thanks for the replies.
I think you will really like it. Mine works for both single and double stack pistols.
Yeah, it's not meant to work. I've accidentally loaded 9mm into a 38SC open gun when I was doing a demo. The gun fired, but wouldn't run.
To the OP, go with a 9mm if you have a really good smith as the 1911 platform can be tricky with short ammo. I have one widebody 9mm and it's the most fun to shoot of all my guns.
The Texas DPS pistol team is having tryouts next month and I'm thinking about giving it a try. Shooting is shooting right? And getting to shoot Department ammo on the clock would be even better.
I've never shot a PPC match and really have no idea what it's all about. I glanced at the rules this morning and it seems if I increased the trigger pull on my 6" limited pistol, it would be legal for Open.
Have any of you shot PPC? If so, did you like it?
I would love to do that for you, but it would take my work camera and a better place than my apartment to see it. Picture a tri-topped slide with the angles flattened......They did such a good job of dehorning the gun for carry, you have to hold it to really see what it is. Also this is the first time I've used their tactical rear sight blade. I really, really like it for carry!!
I'm not as concerned about reducing the felt recoil as much as preventing any frame or barrel link damage with a lighter weight spring.
So is the consensus that there is nothing to worry about as far as damage using a 14# spring with major PF loads?
I'll say this, a factory built Springfield TRP comes with like a 20# spring......or at least that is what it feels like
You shouldn't need one with a 14# spring. I run a 12# spring with an alumabuff in front of a wilson shok buff to short stroke the gun a bit. My guns run 100% with them, they've never failed, and I love the way it feels.
I'm just curious, there appears to be a gap between the mag well and the bottom front of the grip. Is that meant to be there or was the mag well not fully seated on the grip?
Carlos, I watched your video on youtube........nice shooting, Amigo
thanks brother, might be moving to Texas in august hopefully i have the pleasure to meet you boss
Governor Perry or Colonel McCraw?
