  1. Right now I am looking at clear and black anodized. I am also toying with the idea of a couple other finishes. I had one part done in a Boron Nickel that makes for a nice satin finish with a slight gold hue. Right now my plans are to do 30 clear and 20 black out of the first run of 50 parts. Ok, I have been testing a couple sample parts and have decided all magwells are going to be Type III hard anodized black. Can't get a consistant color match on the clear anodizing and the type II just isn't hard enough.

  3. Yes the magwell would be the same between and X5 and X6. The first trial parts are at various places for finishing right now. Probably about 3 weeks away from starting on the first "production" parts. (I hope)
  4. How much do you need to change the POI in inches? At 25yds the SIG sights are suppose to change POI 1" per number for front sights and 2" per number on rear sights. The way the sights are marked is increasing numbers raise the POI and decreasing numbers lower the POI. This is true for front or rear. Let me know what you need. I might have one laying around that you can have.

    X5 competition

As Skydiver mentioned the X5 Comp is not production legal since it is SAO. Also as he mentioned the X5 Allround is legal for production but it has the regular DA/SA internals not the SRT like your P226 Elite. Therefore it will have a reset that is much longer than your Elite. Of course you can put the SRT parts in the X5AR or you could go with what IMO is a better option and get a Grayguns competition short reset package or total automation QTR package.
  6. Once I have some completely finished parts there will be an add on SF.
  7. Have a couple minor changes that will need to be made to the fixture and to the part and then a small batch of the standard version (for use with the factory basepad)will be run. The parts I have are the competition version for use with big sticks and Lt. Col Roger Shermans SIG basepads. I am currently processing them to send them off to be anodized.
  8. It will still be awhile. The parts in the picture are the first test parts off the fixtures. Found a minor change that needs to be made to the fixture and a chamfer that needs to be changed on the part. Once those changes have been made I'll have a small batch of the standard version made. The parts you see in the picture are the competition onlt version. Still need to get them anodized.

  9. I have used Corel Video Studio Pro to do video overlays before. Here is a short clip of an overlay I did comparing two different loads in the same gun. video
  10. They are coming slowly but surely. The machine shop made a little goof with the first batch of test parts. As soon as I get test parts verified I'll have a small initial run of production parts done. looks like the production parts will be around $100 to $110 each.
  11. I use P226 22 conversion kits on a couple different P226s as well as three different X5s so you should be good to go. As far as your sights, if you want an adjustable rear and you want to stay with a stock height front sight the only option that I am aware of is the LPA sight that hangsoff the rear of the gun it is part #tpu25ss**. You can get an idea of what it would look like on the LPA website. LPA also makes a sight set that does not overhang the back of the slide but it uses a much taller front sight to work. I do not know if the Dawson sights are available that tall.
  12. Well, I dug through my box of magazines and found some old 15rnd SIG 9mm magazines and they worked just fine in my versa mag puoches. They didn't fit any tighter than my 18rnd MecGars.
  13. Are the Gold Teams hard chrome or just a bare stainless finish?
  14. The magazine tube for the 18/20rnd MecGar magazine is slightly longer inorder to provide clearance for the plastic baseplates. However, all other dimension remain the same.
  15. Yea, they work fine in my experience.
  16. No such thing as a plastic MecGar SIG mag.
  17. So you tried the glock insert also and it was still too tight? The Glock magazines are about a tenth of an inch wider than the SIG mags.
  18. I use the 18 round mecgars but the body dimensions are the same. I'll get mine out and take a look at them in the morning and see if I can figure out what the problem might be.
  19. I use the CR Speed single Versa Mag pouches with my SIG magazines and have had no problems. I used the same inserts that work with the CZ mags. Can't tell you which insert that is off the top of my head though.
  20. Yes. The P226ST is available as an Elite (beavertail) and in the standard non beavertail frame.
