  1. You're gonna be liked by all!
  2. Looks like someone may be trying to get their post count up to 50.
  3. I shot a gen 5 last night. It was heavy but didn't seem too bad. I'm not sure I've ever thought any stick Glock trigger was great. I just accepted them. At least on my carry guns. The first thing I'd try is going to a 4.5# sprng if it was for competition.
  4. I just bought an mos. I want to try CO for a few matches at the end of the year. I thought it was easier than getting slide milled for DPP and FCS and refinished. Seems like the places I checked out to do the work all are several weeks out and only offer FCS that are more tacticool than practical. Though, I'm still Gonna want FCS so,... I guess I didn't think it thru very well. Ha ha.
  5. I believe I've read that the one sided has less surface area/contact so theres less friction. Which means less force/lower pull weight. That was in the manufacturers description. So,... Creative marketing or legit?
  6. I want the 3 wing one I seen. I heard Ben Stoeger uses it. Ok,... I'm trolling. Seriously, I'd buy the cheaper if the two. I'm with Memphis, I doubt it matters. I've had both in CZ's. I can't say I remember a difference.
  7. I'm going to try SC because it looks to be more agressive than stippiling, or can be if you use the right grit. Yes it needs to be redone every once and a while but so does tape. A solid grip is crucial to shooting every gun well!
  8. I just thought you might be special. Thanks.
  9. Absolutely missed the ones I did because of trigger pull. Thanks for the input!
  10. This is why I want to grip hard! 12 out of 15 shots on the popper at 45 yds.
  11. Right on! The rules will always have the point were they unfortunately catch someone and they get dinged. So, you gotta just throw up your hands and say sorry but you got screwed. So, I do get it. But.....
  12. I personally think if there's any question the shooter should get a restart. I had a stage where I flinched/false stsrted maybe even was creeping. Right as I went back to the start position, the beep went off. I was not in the correct start position at the start signal. My hand was not relaxed at sides and I was still moving. I hesitated, thinking I was gonna get stopped due to not being in the correct start position at the beep. I realized the RO was not gonna stop me so I went on and shot the COF. After the COF I asked if I was gonna get a reshoot since I wasn't in the correct starting position when the start signal was given. He said no because I had recovered. I got it on video. I was still moving when the beep went off. My point is,... Stopping me and giving me another start wouldn't have given me any advantage over anyone else. So, if the shooter turns and ask or goes for the gun but doesn't draw, I think it would be ok to give them a reset. I do get the point about the slippery slope though. So,... The best thing is to just be ready to go at the standby command. Don't worry about how fast the beep was. Just start the COF. If you get stopped ok but don't wait, assume or ask. There's too any variables. One being the RO and there knowledge and assuming they actually seen or heard whatever.
  13. I don't know if I agree or want to call you a bad name? Don't know what's defined as "reacting". I mean, I would think reacting would be doing anything at the sound of the beep. Since you're supposed to be standing motionless but what happens if the shooter jumps, moves from another sound/beep or flinches from an extra long wait? So, an unsure movement shouldn't be a "too bad you're on the clock". At least not to me. . Saying that, I try to just go and shoot until stopped. I've had a flinch at lv2 match a split second before the beep. I stopped assuming the RO was gonna restart me but he didn't. Just go as best you can like normal. Let them stop you. Stopping and arguing is probably just gonna cost you a lot of pts per sec.
  14. Yeah, for just plain ole plinking, bullseye, time doesn't matter, I wouldn't say you need to grip all that hard. When I was a kid my I was taught to basically just hold the gun, just barely, and just focus on front sight while increasing pressure on the trigger until you get that surprise break. For USPSA I want to crush with my support hand as hard as I can. This minimizes recoil and minimizes the effects of a poor trigger pull at speed. 'cause....I'm gonna be slapping it as fast as I can sometimes. Hopefully straight back!
  15. Ha ha. It's not from sweat. Wasn't trying to sound rude, macho or whatever in previous post but it's from gripping hard!
  16. This! People should not be heckling anyone during MR. Folks that want to preform well usually wait to heckle after your done. Those that dont,.... well can't do anything for/about them! Some folks just don't get it since they're just there to make noise. With their mouths and thier guns.
  17. So what would happen if the shooter didn't draw but turned and said they wanted another start?
  18. I'm not disagreeing but it's hard sometimes to not draw the gun instinctively when the beeper goes off. Then, you process that it was less than 1 sec. Best bet is to train yourself to just go at the beeper and not focus on if it was enough time. It's only gonna end up costing you if you do.
  19. Stoeger said on his last podcast that, in a match, he wouldn't attempt to shoot some of the adjusted ones at what it would take to hundo them. So, if someone at that level wouldn't shoot for 95-100% on them, how is anyone else supposed to make GM? You basically lay up for points for match finish (which is what you should do) or you say "I'm going for it" and swing away. Before the update yes some where "easier" but (here's the point) it was possible to get the next class up scores and still be a little reserved. Meaning you weren't in danger of zeroing or tanking hard and loosning a ton of points!
  20. Everyone is different. For me, the most effective part to managing recoil is the part you left blank.
  21. I really thought I got it right this time. I prepped it with alcohol (3 times. Even used a clean soft tooth brush to clean it the first time), used hair dryer, wrapped the grip for 24 hrs with para chord and ace bandage to help set it. Did two guns with two different kinds of tape (talon and A_zone).Took them out yesterday and destroyed both in minutes! I've ruined probably 10 different shooters grips in the past. If your using tape, and it's still on, you're not gripping hard enough! I'll take the Pepsi challenge any day and ruin your grip to show you! Not trying to be macho, just saying. I don't think I have the strongest grip either. If your happy with your shooting then that's all that matters.
  22. The tape does the same it needs to be replaced. How hard is it to get the old tape that's been glued down off? Is the residual glue a pain to remove? I'm going to go SC but just wondering?
  23. I've done this. You're not gripping hard enough.
