  1. it also list the weight including an empty magazine at 43oz. Para lists the weight at 40oz , unknown wether that is w/wo a mag. on the surface , it appears to be legal for ESP. CDP would be questionable , again because of the weight issue (41oz max with mag.). my 2 cents MP
  2. is the SO yelling "cover" at this point? continue with quote And to that I say that regardless of the distances from the wall of either party , you are both concealed from each others position . I agree with the above that said you should reconsider the interpretation..
  3. Sounds ok to me . Another (3d) option* is to engage T1 twice T2 once Popper T2 again then the drop turner. *dependent on the speed of the DT. Note ; there is no duty to engage in tactical sequence unless the procedure calls for it. fwiw, MP
  4. Congratulations to everyone on their performance and especially to "J-go" for having the cojones to do the right thing. This link has more detailed photos of the SP01 and from my point of view it dosn't look like there is very much material under the trigger guard to remove without causing a weakening of the that part of the frame. Not having seen the winning gun in question , I'll defer to those that have to make the comparison. fwiw, Mark
  5. Flexmoney is on the right track. Revolvers; after the last target of 3 have been engaged , a (6shot) revolver shooter may begin his reload prior to arriving at P2 . because of the following Since the initial 3 targets are "out of the problem" and the competiitor is fully behind cover (as it relates to T4-5 ) using the partition separating the 2 target arrays , the prerequisite to use cover is satisfied. let's put it this way; T1-3 are now falling plates and the rest of the stage is unchanged. Would you still require a shooter to use cover for targets that weren't there after succesful engagement and still expect him to use cover while engaging T4-5? Now , ask me about doing a running tac/ret'n reload between P2 and P3 my 2 cents Mark
  6. http://michaelyon.blogspot.com/2005/08/gates-of-fire.html CSM (Command Sergeant Major) Prosser was my old plt sgt back at Ft Ord '91-93 Lightfighters lead the way! Scouts Out, Mark
  7. Somewhere in the gallery section was a Glock that a member had built up the magwell using something from brownell's , iirc. M
  8. JD45 covered it. Latest issue of TJ , just picked it up in the mail today. A little mention of Wolf 45 , most of the article ("Ken's Corner") speaks of popular IDPA calibers , most notably 9mm from Wally world. I can throw it in the range bag , if you are coming to South Mtn Saturday. until that day Mark
  9. 1. 9mm,40sw and 45GAP - single action (of which the XD is ). 2. All scores are figured the same ,regardless of power floor ,division or classification. 3. No.
  10. Tokarev , We had 19 participants for the early morning start time of 0700. Stage 1 had multiple solutions and positions to engage all 6 targets. Stage 2 had the shooter downloaded to 6 at the start and engaging targets behind real hard cover. I really screwed the pooch on that one , put a partially loaded magazine back in the pouch after stage 1 and forgot to reload it. Stage 3 was the plate rack at 25/20/15 and 10 yards. Stage 4 was fun n' gun stage , including tossing a grenade prop! Round count was about 100 give or take and everyone was done by about 1000. You up for Shooters World tomorrow? Until that day, Mark
  11. I have to agree with the re-shoot with the additional condition that the shooter be moved to the back of the squad . until that day, mp
  12. CCI Blazer and Blazer Brass : 180@985fps = 177PF Wolf 180@990fps = 178PF both 40sw , unknown barrel lengths . until that day Mark edit to add: data provided by manufacturer websites.
  13. gawd - whatever happened to "the benefit of the doubt goes to the shooter"? fwiw, TSA encourages slide lightening - which is one of the reasons I dropped my IDPA match to start with the new org. fwiw, M
  14. I don't know about you guys , but I always figured "slide lightening" would be something like this from novak's handgunner outlet. Those mill cuts in the photos are more of a visual mod , imnsho. ymmv Mark
  15. just a reminder - the gun with magazine cannot weigh more than 43oz. I have a couple of S_I weight data (gun only) measurements at home . A 38 super at 36.1 oz and a 45acp at 32.5 oz - both with short dust covers , no rails. Both fit in the box. Sounds like it should be good-to-go. fwiw, Mark (edit to add the weights)
  16. Some of our people are handling that by letting their IDPA membership expire and turning the $$ around into TSA..
  17. Tok , That is so cool ! Congratulations!! I'll check my pic file at home to see if there are any of you in there . Does Wolf want your pics published online anywhere? M edit to add: sorry dude - no action shots , will take care of that next match..
  18. CenDex mag pouches are pretty good .
  19. that's all well and good - but IDPA isn't the real world. And while you can do what you describe ( "reloading on the run" ) it will earn you a PE.
  20. Tokarev , Thanks for the summary and you shot very well ! Total turnout was 20 - not bad for a first time effort and a summer early morning match. Once it starts cooling down - I'll throw more stages out there and we can start on the sub/sg/rifle stuff. See you next time. Until that day, Mark
  21. It's not the ejection port on the G18 i'm talking about. On the top of the slide, right in front of where the rear sight is mounted, there is a "slot". This slot lightens the slide quite a bit and provides a faster cyclic rate. May or may not be relevant to my needs, but just wanted the info in case I try it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Tank , Re:G18 I think that port is similar to the Glock "34/35" models. Another option is to get some slide cuts like Novak's Handgunner Outlet does.
  22. Clay , Take the upper from the functional 34 and try it on the lower of the disfunctional one first. Then reverse the process. If it works - you have isolated the problem - sort of. Other than that ,the only thing I can think of , is to replace the springs* with brand new stock items and see if that corrects the problem. *striker (including those little cups) , trigger return and plunger. First I have ever heard of a problem like that. M

    G17 Or G34

Good choice . If you decide to upgrade , you can always get a 34 upper from glockmeister and mount it to the 17 frame. until that day, mark
  24. lndshrk. are you talking about something like this? Pearce Grip (Mag) Extension for G26
