  1. If it is the replacement base plate that I am thinking of - you should be ok. There is a conflict potential if you were to use the the mags from your 34 - since technically they aren't the "factory standard" for G26 and might weigh more than 1 oz. over the smaller mag - but in the grand world that is idpa , I don't think anyone would care. my 2 cents. Mark
  2. if you throw it hard enough - you might score "down 0".....or could miss the whole thing which would get you a -5 + FTN.
  3. Call up CGR and see what he has to say. If he doesn't pick up , leave a message . Matt's pretty good on returning calls. Until that day Mark
  4. We had Rika over at the Phx Rod & Gun Thursday night steel match last night and she ran the XD just fine - 1st female , 1st "Novice" L10 and she beat half the guys! Pretty good for a gun just delivered and the work done by Canyon Creek is first rate . I got to run a few rounds through it before the rain returned and my Glock is jealous Once she gets more trigger time on the new gun ,you guys better watch out! Until that day, Mark
  5. Thanks Chuck , it was our pleasure having you as our guest ! Next time you come over , the TSA program should be in full swing. Until that day, Mark
  6. This is the criteria for magazine pouches: ________________________________ Magazine carrier must: A. Be designed for concealed carry and suitable for all day continuous wear. B. Be worn on a standard belt of no more than 1 ¾” width that must pass through the belt loops on the shooter’s pants. C. Hold the magazine with enough tension to allow it to be turned upside down and retain a fully loaded magazine. D. Cover 2” of the magazine as measured from the top of the cartridge rim down the back flat of the magazine tube. E. Cover the entire front face of the portion of the magazine inside the carrier. The front face is defined as the side of the tube away from the shooter’s body. F. Hold the magazine within 10 degrees of vertical (80-100° to the ground) position on the belt, no substantial forward or rear cant. G. Be worn in a belt location that will position the front edge of the carrier behind the centerline of the body. ___________________________ There isn't any mention of 50% - but by default , most magazines will have 50% of the body inside the pouch if measured as described. Now , back to our regularly scheduled topic. btw , for my match , I allow any carry holster . I would much rather have a person participate than to turn them away because of equipment non-compliance.
  7. Plate Rack 35 yds, Ltd. Vickers Load only 6. Would make a good standards type stage. RWMangus, where is your state match going to be?
  8. I personally would like to have 9 to 12 really good stages vs more mediocre ones. Quality vs. quantity. Organized squad schedule. (sadly , that's been lacking at our state and regionals - topic for another thread). By that I mean , stages that demand a higher degree of accuracy and precision . It's a championship level match for crying out loud , it ain't supposed to be easy. Genuine props - example : real cars or whatever the stage demands. Courses of fire that have multiple solutions , like play it safe and slow or risk a crash and burn for a better time. just some thoughts off the top for now , Mark
  9. Another vote for keeping the barrel clean and free of build-up. For general practice , I use Billy Bullets and run a brush through the barrel afer 3 or 4 magazines worth in my stock 22 . Not as necessary in the KKM 35. Afterwards , solvent and a good scrubbing for both. Incidentally , I've noticed that the cleaner the barrel , the less smoke there is while shooting . ymmv. MP
  10. just checking to see how far (or not) some clubs go regarding the latest equipment rules. (Can one of you moderator types assist ? - this didn't come out the way I wanted) Mark
  11. Rick , Sounds like a good start to me . fwiw , I would add practicing (dry) the techniques that cost the most time specifically to IDPA (the reloads). I would spend an equal amount of time on them as anything else. From CONCEALMENT , practice slide lock and tac/rwr , not for speed - but for consisitency. The speed will come once you ingrain the 'muscle memory.' Getting those down to a 2d nature will keep you form fumbling them under match conditions - which we all know ADDS TIME to an otherwise good run. Good luck. M
  12. I don't think the Brass magwell is allowed anymore - try the JP magwell instead. Might want to try a lighter weight spring too - but I'll defer to the experince of other 34 ESP guys. Sounds like it will be a fun gun to shoot. Mark
  13. Depends on what type of instructon you seek. If it's just basic stuff , most indoor ranges have qualified staff. I can recommend Scottsdale Gun Club but Shooters World and Caswells are good too. If you want more practical/ccw stuff - the yellow pages has most of the major players listed. Ben Avery has line officers at their public range , which may not be the same as a genuine instructor. Their sole function is to ensure the customers don't violate any safety protocols. Until that day, Mark
  14. Acrobat You and I need to get together with CQ and DR and come to a consensus - I think that they should be interchangable regardless of what the course directions say. Until that day, Mark p.s. about time you found this forum
  15. Tank , Your trigger is fine . Dryfire, dryfire, dryfire and when you get tired of that , it's Lee's turn. see you on the range, Mark
  16. So if a competitor is 4yds away from the last position and 6yds away from the next position - and runs empty... Which point must he go to for reloading?

    Goat Joke

So there I am at work at the bottom of the mine shaft - when all of a sudden these rocks stat raining down from above...first a little one , then they start getting bigger and bigger...
  18. "hut , hut , hut , hut , hut ...."
  19. OK - you can wear external knee pads btw - how do you get away with wearing a gun concealed in Kaliforia ?
  20. D. Belts. Gun belts may be no wider than 1 ¾” or thicker than 5/16” and must pass through the pant loops. (I have no idea on the dimensions of a crspeed belt). M
