My only personal experience was having the bolt break on my Oly AR on the big AR stage at an Area 3-Gun match.

The "gap" isn't worth bothering with IMO. I do open them up a bit to match the frame.

That is correct, there is a small gap with the S&A magwell.

Um, I have many broken striker retension pins from XD's. I don't think they break on their own. The one common denominator is LOTS of dry fire. Spent rounds are not the same as a good snap cap.

They might just do that. I ONLY use one when it is really cold and my fingers have a hard time manipulating the gun.

"Be careful, IPSC shooting can get you killed in the real world..." That line line just cracks me up. I turn on the "ignore" to everything the poster has to say. Some of the most experienced LEO/Military shooters I know are great IPSC shooters/teachers/competitors, go figure. Dang, I missed the closed deadline.

The 3 phase converted was $150 for mine and the ther rest of the stuff to use it was another $50. Money well spent.

My Bridgeport is probably a ton (I would guess) and I wouldn''t want anything less for the small/precise cuts on hard steel.

BladeTech DOH and CR pouches (they fit anything) with a CR belt is a pretty nice setup.

I've broken many tungsten rods and seen more break, it is just a brittle metal. Tungsten doesn't go in my guns anymore. They work, but they just change the recoil impulse IMO. Like any other guide rod, carry a spare.

Progress, you just have to deal with it. But dealing with it means JMB designed guns must be force into a class of their own because they can be quite expensive and that just isn't fair. Hmmm.

But it that isn't DA... and if you do a Glock right it pretty much feels like a SA. The stock trigger on a XD technically moves the striker rearward (just a very tiny amount) but it does move it rearward before releasing the striker. I think that might be why it is IPSC approved.

Tom, don't tell me you think your Glock isn't a single action either... It sure as heck isn't a double action. ... but that is just too logical. Remember the single action rules were meant to exclude guns (JMB designed), not include common guns or accomodate for progress.

I don't know what he does, but I know a great exercise for the fore arms. All you need is a 5-10# pounds weight (the round type you slip on a bar work well), a length of rope 3-4 feet long and a 1 1/2 dowel and foot and a half long. You drill a hole in the middle of the dowell and tie the rope so it will hang down a few feet from the dowell when you hold it both hands out stretched. Then what you do it you hold your arms straight out and "roll" the rope around he dowell using your wrist action. You wind it up and then back down and repeat until your arms are numb. It won't take many reps, and it will give you forearms of steel if you keep it up. ps. Avery can be a hard ass, so if you are a softy you might get your ego stepped on, ok more like trampled, but if you get past HIS ego (attitude), you should be able to learn a thing or two.

I can do rear burried Bomar but like the Dawson's as well for a lot less $. Barsto should have their magwell out soon and they were saying they would make it work with the Arrendondo basepads.

I've pull the trigger on Dave's gun. Do you want to send me a bottle? Guns work different, so you would have to make a test for each type to make it "fair." I know enforcement would be a nightmare and takeup precious match resources.
