  1. It will be easier to shoot open because of the target focus and not having to line up three objects. However, if you want to stick with iron sights I suggest you find an optometrist who will allow you to bring your gun in so you can be fitted with proper shooting glasses. This way you'll be able to focus on the front sight, I believe they set the lens to infinity so you will be able to see the target as well.
  2. Sorry to hear that, I always like shooting with you. I like that you bring out the competition in me.
  3. I think I've narrowed down a shooting schedule for 2009. Here are the following match I will be attending. Single Stack Nationals (shooting friday/saturday) Area 6 (shooting friday) Area 5 (shooing sunday) Area 3 (shooting sunday, traveling on saturday & monday) Area 7 (shooting sunday, traveling on saturday & monday) Area 8 (shooting sunday, traveling on saturday & monday) Open Nationals (saturday thru tuesday) Michigan Sectional (shooting sunday) Area 2 (three day event)
  4. cobra? what cobra? damn she's hot!
  5. Very nice read! I'm going through a running set back of my own. I over pronate which caused an injury on my left foot. The Doc says it's either tendonitis or I have a stress fracture. I won't know about the fracture until the 19th of this month when he may perform a MRI. It's been a month since I ran and last night I started back slowly by only running a mile to see if the pain would come back. No pain from the mile run so I think I'll try 2 miles tonight. I researched running styles and the POSE method looks very interesting. Right now the DOC has me running with orthotics in my running shoes.
  6. application went in the mail yesterday. was able to talk the wife in to swinging by the club to shoot a match on our way to panama city beach for our 15 wedding anniversary.
  7. got the call!!! see you in vegas baby!!!
  8. slash his tires, it will make you feel better.
  9. Is that the reason you stopped shooting open?
  10. Steve, can I borrow your 625 for this match? I gotta do some ass whoppin.
  11. Just picked up the CRKT M16-13Z and I love this slick folder.
  12. I see coats and gloves, must be 60 degrees LOL
  13. is there a major power factor for this match or can it all be shot with minor PF?
  14. Match is complete, for me anyway, shot the morning squad. Thanks goes out to all the Staff for their hard work and dedication. If you're lucky enough to get in this match it's worth shooting, they put on a great show for an indoor range. The "Fun House" and the four "Texas" stars were great. Nice job Matt Cheely running 18 seconds on the Texas Star stage. You're my hero.
  15. I knew I should have went last year. Never got to experience the Summer Blast but have nothing but good things about the match.
  16. The reason the Ghost holster is the best holster for an Open gun in USPSA is the locking mechanism. There are two way to lock the gun. Turn the lock to the upright position when walking around from stage to stage. Turn the lock in the down position for funky starts. Then use your middle finger to unlock the holster as you draw. I've seen a number of guns come out of their holsters on funky starts. One time in particular was at Nationals at PASA, the start position was seated (in a lazy boy chair). The shooter didn't lock his holster and when the muzzle hit the arm of the chair the gun came out flipping end over end until it laid to rest on the floor by his feet, DQ'd without ever firing a shot. Get the GHOST!
  17. I thank you guys very much. I will cheerish this year due to the fact it's my last one in the thirties.
