  1. Maybe not as cool as the Homer buckets, but I use cat litter buckets.
  2. I'll need to measure them with the calipers when I get home but these are 125gr and .355. I couldn't find them on the site either but the item # is R136 and there was no price difference between this and the old style JHPs.
  3. Just loaded up a hundred rounds of the new Zero JHPs. I was waiting for 2 months for some of their old style JHPs and when I emailed them, they offered these HAP style bullets. I'm going to try them out this weekend.
  4. I used to use FP10 and it was a very good lube but I switched to Castrol Syntec motor oil just because that's what I use in my car and I have enough to last me a life time after draining what's left in the bottles after an oil change.
  5. I use the 125gr Zeros with 7.6gr Silhouette, 1.165" OAL with whatever small rifle primers I can get my hands on. Makes 170ish out of my 5" Schuemann with no popple holes.
  6. I've used the Radians and the Howard Leights and they have both crapped out on me. I've switched to the Sordins and haven't looked back. The others were a bit louder in amplification when they worked but I was disappointed that couldn't last.
  7. I've been meaning to start using a safety razor and this thread has made me make the plunge. I have a merkur and feather blades on order. I need to find my father's old razor the next time I'm there.
  8. I like the Quinn because it lowers the dot for me, but I never had any ejection problems with my Serendipity and 9 major. As Cocobolo alluded to, if the gun is tuned properly, it shouldn't matter what mount you use.
  9. I love trying new restaurants but that doesn't sound good at all and I'll eat just about anything.
  10. It's one of my favorite bad movies that I have to watch whenever it's on. Plus I went to junior high school with Dina Meyer who played Dizzy.

    Photog Optics?

I just saw that this morning. They should work on a 90 degree mount to bring the dot closer to the bore...I mean lens.
  12. I'm sure a lot of watches would fail that test too. At least it wasn't attached to his wrist when he dropped it from the 2nd floor.
  13. If you like automatic watches, take a look at the Seiko Monster. Built like a tank, water resistant down to 200m, awesome lume and well within your price range. It's been described as the AK47 of watches. A quick search on the web will turn up a lot info on this great watch.
  14. Go to your local matches and see if you can try out a few different ones. I'm sure many would be happy to help you out. Once you figure it out, as stated before, get something from one of the well known smiths, either new or used. 38super, 38supercomp and 9 major are all viable calibers for Open but I went with 9major initially because of the cost since I have a source of brass but the big advantage is not having to pick up my brass after I shoot. The constant bending down and getting up were taking a toll on me during the match especially in the warmer months and was affecting my performance. The brass is always scooped up by someone else anyway.
  15. Never fear, El Guapo is here! He is a legend (in some minds) in the Long Island shooting scene. There is a plethora of knowledge and awesome people on this forum. Welcome Bob!
  16. Great story, thanks for sharing it with us. I knew it was only a matter of time until a member of this great community stepped up to help. Kudos to Carmoney
  17. I had Gary convert my 38sc to 9 major and lighten the slide. It runs like a top. Great work, good price and fast turnaround too. You won't be disappointed. It looks a little different now since I switched to a Quinn mount.
  18. I've had cuts made to my hardchromed slide with no problems at all.
  19. The boys in green can play some D.
  20. I just tried signing up but it's not available in NY yet.
  21. I get some oil residue on the back of the lens with my Quinn II but it's usually on the first stage when I shoot the gun after it's been cleaned and oiled. A quick wipe and I'm good for the rest of the match.
