  1. I have noticed that as I practice the mechanical accuracy improves too.
  2. Not so much talking about bullet weight as the perception of recoil between powders loaded to the same velocity and with the same bullet.
  3. Good conversation started at the match the other day: Can you feel a difference in recoil between two powders when they meet the exact same power factor? The current practice is to get fast powders and heavy bullets. I assert I can feel a difference in recoil feel at the same velocity and same bullet weight. Is there any proof - could you pass a blind test - would it show up in results of a Bill drill?
  4. Tom - We don't use moly anymore. It's the Hi-Tek coating. There should no difference in charge weights though. I have shot both of Chandlers versions - both are excellent. Fastest shipper in the business.

  6. For copper plated TG if they were poly coated then W231 - Unique if it is all you have for either.
  7. This time it came out ENTJ in previous pretty sure it was INTJ.
  8. Yeah 250 part on 450 shotgun hard to justify for what it does.
  9. I heard there is a one piece extended mag tube for the 930 - does anyone know about this and where to find it?
  10. A bread crisper works very well for drying brass. I put the damp brass in paper bags and then in the crisper until ready to load. http://www.amazon.com/Brisker-678B-Brushed-Original-Electric/dp/B006ZDESVI/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1401976415&sr=1-1&keywords=bread+crisper
  11. I like the ease with which I can maintain the finish on stainless - do ya'll think that stainless would be a poor choice for strength or durability?
  12. I was told today nobody makes a 2011 with a stainless slide - is that true - is there a reason?
  13. W231/Hp38 works very well for minor and major - my standard. Bullseye works but is dirty and recoil feels sharp. Be careful 40 is known for pressure spikes at the limit.
  14. Are the Precision coated or jacketed?
  15. My experience with these was the slide cycled really slow and it was disconcerting shooting steel to hear the ting after the unload and show clear. The brass just barely ejected from the gun - the 147s work so well it just did not make sense to pursue the 160g. FYI - I don't like 200s in 40sw either - same complaint.
  16. Thank you - glad to get some confirmation.
  17. Is anyone using American Select to make major with 40 - I am loading BBI 180g and looks like if I start a bit below 5g and work up it should be safe and should make major. Anyone use it with 180 lead - shooting a G35. Yes, I running out of the powders I usually use - W231/S1000/WST etc. I would either be the AS or go to Bullseye and I would rather not.
  18. Well, I know you would do better or worse - oddly never in the middle!
  19. I really appreciate the input - I have been competing a bit less than 10 years - ran Sig 226 for several years and then Glock so this is only my third platform change - I don't change without doing some homework.
  20. On the durability issue the other platform is the 2011 and every time I go to a match I hear somebody with a trick 2011 has broken some part that is expensive and hard to replace - it seems that the CZ/Tanfo have a good record on durability - I am sure racers can and do lighten to a point of accelerated breakage but I tend to hold off the bleeding edge.
  21. Butter, I know what you mean - I have a CZ-75 and have shot a witness or two but not one of these bad boys.
  22. Is there any concern about durability running 40 major? I run lead or the new coated lead bullets in my G35 without issue - is that likely to be true with a Tanfoglio too?
  23. Solvability

    Nope

Fess up time - I posted about a Tanfo in the CZ forum - I am a CZ fan - but looks like the Tanfo is a better price/package. I was quite amused at some of the responses!
