  1. I guess they'll just have to cry. I will not shoot LO seriously unless it's got major pf included. If it's just minor, then I'll use a currently legal CO gun, get classified, then probably not shoot it again.
  2. Just put Prod & CO at 15 rounds, institute Limited & LO keeping all the current Ltd Div rules, get rid of L10 (provisions are already in the rules for mag ban states), leave everything else alone. Problem solved.
  3. The change to Prod is nothing surprising. At the members meeting it was brought up to change it to 15rnds to comply with IPSC... which a lot of people agreed with, but then Jake mentioned they'd been talking about trying a "Carry Irons" approach to Prod to breathe some life into it as well as be a more accurate entry division for new members. I guess there have been enough people vying for Limited Optics, because at all of the members meetings at Nats, nobody seemed in favor of it (members, not board).
  4. I saw somewhere that it was reported that TS magwells will work. I have no idea if it's true and I've yet to see one with a magwell installed.
  5. Impact Machine already has done some slide milling and optics mounting on them. Saw a short reel on Insta about it. Looked like a full sized and a SRO.
  6. Agreed! I have done 12-13 stages at IDPA matches in one day, but they tend to be very short. The 2 day format for B2B Nats worked fine for me, though I was pretty beat by the end of working PCC/Prod.
  7. I'm 50, so not a spring chicken, with a prior back surgery and knee/shoulder issues and arthritis starting to cause issues with my hands. 10 stages in a day is a good limit for me, if there are a lot of long stages then that's pushing it. When we did staff for Classic Nats, 15 stages (plus a reshoot) was a bit too much for me and I was wiped. In my younger years, before I even new USPSA existed, I could've easily done 15 stages in a day and probably would've wanted to shoot more if available.
  8. Still illegal unless the barrel is 4.20in or less. This gun would get the shooter a bump to Open. It's the main reason I haven't bought one as a backup to my Sig 1911Max in 40.
  9. My 180gr Sport Pistol loads are 171pf, same load but swap to 155gr is 142pf. Same recoil spring, no change in sights, etc. I tested 140gr which was was sub minor at around 120pf but would be a good steel load, however would need a recoil spring swap to function and a sight adjustment for my gun. The 165gr test was around 155pf. Didn't bother with it further because the 155 hit the sweet spot for me.
  10. So, I used to use an older (not Elite) 5.25 for IDPA, here's the deal... I had a Springer small magwell (advertised as ESP legal) on it and ran the short (0.25) Springer baseplates. It fit the box, but just barely, the rear sight had to be compressed. It looks like the factory magwell is smaller than my old one, so that should work... but mags will need to be shorter to be legal.
  11. This would be my bet as well, and someone at Buds probably got fussed at.
  12. Probably got no definitive answer because they're an importer, not the manufacturer... so they don't know until they're told.
  13. I appreciate the offer, we've got a couple of guys in my home club that run them in Prod & CO. Getting one for a test won't be a problem.
  14. I may have to borrow a Canik from a fellow club member to see how I like them... then buy one of the metal ones.
  15. If the shooter didn't sweep themselves, didn't break the 180, and it wasn't listed as a forbidden action... then what's the problem? I would've reversed the call and given a reshoot as well.
  16. At our last club match, there were 2 Prod, 3 Open, 3 Limited, and the rest CO. Looking at the numbers for Gator this coming weekend, there are 95 CO, 50 Open, 41 Limited, 38 PCC, with the remaining 23 shooters spread across Prod,SS, & Revo. Some of us are holdouts in Limited (my favorite division), but CO is currently king.
  17. Regardless of the number of entrants that are bumped to Open (could only happen for those entered in Production at this match), there is no recognized award for Open at a match where it's not in the available divisions. For this match, Prod could be bumped to Open, but any similar violation in PCC would end up shooting for no score. PCC and Open can't be "bumped to Open" so the only thing to do with them is make them NFS (not for score).
  18. I've not heard that, I only know what was told to staff on the subject. I was not personally running chrono, I was up in the C zone. I did hear a rumor that involved the box, but that was just a rumor and we know how reliable those are. I can tell you that my old pre-Shadow SP01 had more space around it at chrono on staff day than what my box at home had...both are supposed to be built to same spec.
  19. This is correct. When he went to chrono, the left side safety was too wide and didn't pass the box. His gun is one of the older ones with bigger safeties and (IIRC) he filed down the right side but not the left. The newer Beretta pistols that were shot in the match passed the box because they come with slimmer safeties from the factory now.
  20. Mason crushed everyone on our stage (16 - Blue Bayou) with a 6.7HF. Sal was 2nd with a 6.3 and Nils was a 6.2. I'm sure video will come out on it some time, Shooting USA was with us all morning and I ran the Prod Super Squad.
  21. B2B Nats coming up, just went to verify for Limited (171) & Prod (130) this morning.
  22. There's a difference in having a few items in a small bag to use in a pinch to keep the stage moving, while waiting for Mr Fix-it to make permanent repairs, and fully stocking all repairs for a stage. My bag is to get me out of a bind, while trying to keep shooters moving so we can keep our time quotas, or to help me more efficiently and safely do my job as RO/CRO. I've had to use it at locals all the way through Nationals. Sometimes, s#!t happens and it's better to be prepared with a small bag than standing around with your thumb up your ass & aggravated shooters standing around.
  23. In addition to what's already been said by both of you... one crescent wrench two 3/4in combo wrenches two measuring tapes (one 6-12ft and one larger 25+ft) 2lb mini sledge Stanley demo tool Sharpies long thin zip ties (for checking barrel obstruction) thick heavy zip ties (field expedient repairs) Gorilla duct tape (the black one, also for field repairs) cheap aerosol lubricating oil bug spray sun block a good chair an umbrella I always have extra tools, tire plugging kit, air compressor, jump pack, EMR kit, and other odds & ends in the truck... and yes, I've needed all but the medical supplies to help people at a match.
  24. To all of you guys arguing about safeties... I shot '19 L10 Nats with a pinned grip safety on a XDM 5.25 and everything was just fine. Just as it was in Limited at LA Gator and MS Classic. The "dingus" on the trigger is the same as the one on a Glock and is the primary safety, the grip safety is a secondary just as it is on a 1911.
  25. Hold it down with tape, drill through the grip & safety, then pin it in place. That's what we did with one I shot in Limited for a while. Just keep in mind that it's hardened steel and will ruin cheap bits.
