  1. I also have a spare 40 sitting around that I'm going to put a mount on it and just swap out 155s for 180s on my 1050 (gives about 140pf). Though I may test some warranties and shoot some major through it as well.
  2. If there's "zero want" for 40 in LO then explain the portion of us that voted to have major/minor scoring. Regarding dots and slide speed or "violence of action" from the oh so powerful 40... there are plenty of 10mm & 45s out now with slide ride optics. Got any data from them killing dots to help support your theory that you can share?
  3. Grafs just sent out an email, Ginex SPP for $365/5000. Worked out to 8c/primer delivered on one, Max of 2 allowed would put it at 7.6c/primer delivered.
  4. If you're running 165gr major loads, if it was me, I would try an experiment of not changing a thing on the press and drop in 140s to see how they turn out. I'm betting you'll be just over minor pf and your POI may not need adjustment.
  5. Seeing as CO doesn't have to fit the Prod box, just be on the list... and there's no such thing as a box for Limited, I'm going to say that the 5.4in will be OK.
  6. I did some playing around with loads down to 140. Keeping powder & OAL the same, from my notebook... 180gr gave 172pf 155gr gave 140pf 140gr gave 122pf Using the 180s or 155s, POI was the same at 20yrds and no recoil spring swap was needed. Using 140s, a lighter recoil spring was a must for reliable cycling and POI only shifted slightly.
  7. No, I was one of the ones that stated if it's going to be "Limited" it should be Major/Minor or just allow SAO in CO...but if it is minor only, I'd just throw a magwell on an already CO legal gun just to get classified then probably not shoot the division again.
  8. Let the market and shooters figure out the lifespan of the mounts/dots on a major pf gun. I've got a spare 40 slide that I'd have milled and run it on my backup gun to try it out and see how long a Holosun and/or SRO will last with 172pf ammo...I've been considering doing it anyway. But somehow, I think it'd be OK or improvements would be made, seeing as there are 45s and 10mms running around in the wild already with dots on the slide.
  9. If it's going to die, then allow the membership to decide with participation numbers. Then the org doesn't need to do anything, if people don't want to shoot 40 then they won't. Don't blame me because you don't like recoil. Hell, I'd like a super major breakout where I shoot my 200+ PF 10mm loads in Limited...but too many 9mm fans that can't handle the recoil would complain about supermajor getting 5 points for As & Cs and 3 points for Ds.
  10. Yeah, there's no "carry" anything in USPSA, for that you need to go IDPA. However, this last year at the Nats at CMP during the members' meetings, it was discussed renaming Prod to "Carry Irons" and having it mimic CO, but just in iron sight form. More people liked the idea of just bumping Prod to 15 rounds to mimic IPSC. Which honestly, I'd be for cutting CO back to mimic Prod Optics, knocking it back to 15 rounds (with the move for Prod up to 15). Then if you wanted to shoot your currently spec'd out CO gun with all the weight, light, extra BS then you'd just add a magwell and do it in LO (keeping major/minor scoring). Which is a suggestion I wrote in on the surveys.
  11. And the point of Limited was do whatever you want but no comp and no dot. So the natural progression to LO would be keep the same rules as Limited, just add a dot. It's a pretty simple concept.
  12. Without major/minor scoring, you might as well just add SAO to CO and be done.
  13. That's very similar how I explain the difference when someone asks me about shooting both. I tell them USPSA is speed with acceptable accuracy and IDPA is accuracy with acceptable speed.
  14. It's not available yet, other than to "influencers"... so of course you're not going to find anything in a search. It has to be on the approved list first, so currently not a Prod/CO legal gun. RIA has to apply for that status and wait for approval...you've got the cart waaaaay before the horse here. It is a hammer fired SAO, with enclosed hammer. The safety is the same as on most striker pistols, a trigger dongle.
  15. Another "it depends"... if it's major minor scoring, I'll get a slide milled and try it out. If it's minor only, I'll shoot it with a CO gun to get classified.
  16. They wouldn't have to, they would just shoot LO if they don't want to use factory length mags.
  17. I'm fine with that. I'm just not sure how that would play out in my home state, there are maybe 6 clubs in the whole state. Honestly, it would just take money and promises if all the rumors about the organization start proving true.
  18. It's not a big deal. Yep, your gun has to fit the box, has to make minimum trigger pull, and everything has to be legit. It's only a pain if you're bad at planning and time management... or you have a lot of people trying to cheat.
  19. While SA no longer makes a XDM in 40, the mag with Dawson base pads & Grams guts hold 20 reloadable... one of mine held 21 (9mm version holds 23 with the same setup). I don't know if anyone, other than 1 guy in IDPA that I met, that used the older XD version (or the updated Mod 2 version). As far as the HK, I know one guy that was a big time HK fan and that's what he used. Just that one guy... so our experiences are similar on that one.
  20. I wrote it in multiple times in the comment sections on my survey.
  21. Not sure, maybe only those that signed up for notifications got it?
  22. If they are current USPSA members, tell them to log on to the website (not the mobile app). The surveys are available there, as well a all the source material.
  23. And the "40 is dead, old man" exclamations... usually pointing out Nils won with minor, but ignoring that he is a phenom.
  24. I honestly do hope they read all the write in comments, but I'm not holding my breath. At the last few member meetings there was no interest from the board (nor members that spoke up) to support LO, now all the sudden it's on the docket.
