I recind my orginal answer and therefore disqualify myself. I think I got a little too creative. Yes it should have only been 4 squares in the first one and; yes it should have been all squares in the second one... I can do match stick puzzles like crazy but I can not read instructions
  2. I spent about 2 hours yesterday bullet pulling 75 misfires from WLP primers... grrrrrrr. I was trying to use up WLP primers for practice with my 625 that just had an action job. The ammo I checked had great pin hits to the primer. I even checked to see the primers were seated before firing some, and they were. I guess the firing pin was a little short on umpfh. Just to add insult to injury the 50 test rounds for a new load with Federal primers worked flawlessly.
  3. Well better a broken butt than a sore foot. I ran up onto the sidewalk from a non looker driver that almost swiped me at the post office. I stepped in a chuck hole next to the sidewalk and hurt my foot. I was about 0.000001 seconds from blurting out something that would make a sailor blush when a kid about 8 walked by laughing like crazy. He saw me stumble and thought it was the funniest thing since cartoons.
  4. It depends on which type of beefing up you are doing. Bondo has good compressive strength, but poor tenisle strength, while fiberglass has good tensile but week compressive. Bondo is similar in nature to concrete. If you have a concrete driveway and you do not put any rebar in it, it falls apart. Your best bet would be the fiberglass cloth/ epoxy combo to build up any areas, then use epoxy / microbeads over the top to smooth it.
  5. http://www.fitnessonline.comhas some decent articles about fitness bars, and drinks. I have tried the gatorade bars, and thought they were like eating compressed Cap't Crunch. I like the Powerbar "Harvest" bars which are similar to the Gatorade bar but a whole lot less sugar. As for regular Gatorade, I get the powder and mix it with about 1/3 more water than recomended. This cuts down the sugar content, and gives it less of a Kool Aid taste. I could not think of a way to post the answer here with out an obvious give away so I put the 2 pictures of the answer at : http://www.think-crate.com/benos
  9. I have checked into this lately, and ran some exterior balistics. With a 45 ACP hardball round if you sight in at 50 yds you are only 1.79" (maximum) high at 25 yards. At 10 or 15 yards you are within 1".
  10. Your vest pocket idea is great!! If you really want fast bungy the first mag to the lanyard loop of the gun...hey, it's retained isnt it!
  11. Sounds like the company I work for...all overhead.
  12. I have a dificult time calling the shots. I think it has more to do with being keyed up about shooting a good stage score more than anything. I have had some stages I have shot, particularly long ones 20-30 rounds, where after the first reload I am seeing the sights when the gun fires. My first 3 targets suck, but the rest have good hits. I guess I need to shoot more Bill Drills.
  13. I wonder if I can shoot my next match with a mouse button?
  14. Well I guess you just need about 20 tapers...
  15. I have this same situation. When I natural aim I hit along the left side line of the A zone. I just thought my grip was off etc. I can also shift my feet and have a correct stance. I have tried regripping with my support hand with some success, I grip a little further to the back with my L hand which pushes the gun a little to the Right.
  16. A Milk Jug full of water is about 8 lbs. Holding the jug by the handle extend it out to arms length and roll your wrists. You will be surprised how short of a period you can keep your arm exetended with 8 lbs on the end of them. It works just like the can o soup exersize only 10 times harder.
  17. CCI Blazer works well for me in a H&K USP 9. The ammo is available here (Texas) for around $4.00 per box of 50. It is a little harder to take down a Pepper Popper, however the Mini Popper, and Pesky Poppers are not much of a problem.
  18. Does anyone have any experience with the Fistfire method of stance and grip for combat shooting? I have read a few articles and it sounds interesting.
  19. It could be worse. Now here is one for all the revolver division people to try. http://www.geocities.com/colemangc/4h/zulu.htm Atleast the course designer thought ahead and put a waste basket in the middle of the stage. 20. In the Black, I am currently using the method you described. Although my finger length has never been an issue (I have long fingers). I have found that the index and pinky do not fold over the top strap or the hammer the merely act as a stop to keep your hand from going through the area where the cylinder is. One comment about this method is you will burn the **&*&(^ out of your middle finger if you go to slow and it rests on the forcing cone too long. I left a dougnut shaped burn on the side of my finger using this method with my 357. Additionally this method is pretty much a must while using twist type speedloader (HKS), as your middle and ring finger hold the cylinder out and prevent it from turning. You can find some pretty good pictures of this method in the book "Combat Handgunning" (Edited by kaiserb at 4:33 pm on May 28, 2002)
  21. I would like to thank everyone for all their advice. I will work on the various methods in the field this weekend. I will let you know next week what worked , and what didn't .
  22. Actually using profanity is a substitute for a poor vocabulary. You could always say "Hey that was a real kick in the bollix." or "I really foozled that shot."
  23. As a lowly beginner, I can reload in about 2 seconds, using moon clips. I am working on it and have been steadily speeding up...especially since I went from speed loaders to moon clips
  24. I shot this one for my very first classifier ever. I though I did ok with a revolver untill I looked at the targets. I had a Mike....man what a humbling experience. Name CL DIV PT PN TIME HF ST PTS B E U Revolver 39 10 13.41 2.1626 13.8861 This ranked me around 17% on the USPSA site. Any thoughts?
  25. I had read but forgotten about he Ayoob Method. I will have to go back and study it along with the other methods. Time to get out the timer....
