  1. Mine runs on regular.
  2. You are aware that .40 1911s are made in single stack, right?
  3. Funny how a cop shooting his Glock 22 in SSP is considered more "real world" than a glock 34, but when a .40 1911 wants to play in CDP it is considered a "game gun". When you step the the line in IDPA, you're carrying a game gun, no matter what other roles you might make it serve. There is no asterisk next to the 10th place guy saying "1st place: real world gun".
  4. I can't imagine why. The "1911 sanctuary" was invaded quite a while ago.
  5. Post #25 Posted 26 September 2006 - 08:04 PM Just sayin'
  6. Bud Bud Light Michelob Michelob light Coors Coors light Miller Miller light Corora ...do people who drink that stuff ever ask for a beer list? Don't they just order what they are used to, because every place has what they want? I also hate when the waitress has no clue what beers they serve. If you can't memorize them, write it down. I must be alone, or among a forgettable minority of people who are very picky when it comes to brew.
  7. Oh well. I just got a Dan Wesson .40 I am getting mags for.
  8. Funny you should mention that. I saw a lady park in a handicap spot once, with one of those placards hanging from the mirror, outside of a CVS. She didn't appear disabled in any way, other than being overweight, and even then she wasn't so big that she stood a chance of getting on Jerry Springer. I guessed she was borrowing the car or placard, so I said "you don't look disabled, is it a mental handicap?". She didn't have any words for me, other than telling me to go visit someplace hot.
  9. Go to "In'n'out" burger for lunch, but get there before 1130.
  10. ^ a big one at that. 8 stages, 4 of which are classifiers from what I've been told. I'll be there, if only to get classified in Single Stack.
  11. My wife got sick of my comments regarding poor tactics and decision making on that show back in season 1, and the trend has continued, but I've actually been impressed with the weapons handling skills demonstrated this season. Two scenes stick out in my mind: Dana Walsh's slide-lock reload while moving backwards. She kept the gun up in her eye-line, canted the gun towards her weak hand for a smooth mag entry, and hit the slide catch instantly. Jack's clearing of a downed T's gun against the staircase railing.
  12. Wonderful. Good looking stages. It is good to see stage designers who have discovered 3D. Looking at 2D stages now is like trying to watch an old VHS recording instead of Blu-Ray.
  13. I realized yesterday that the only stage I got that feeling on was the one I didn't adequately prepare for mentally. Every other stage I had run my plan through thoroughly, and stepped up calm and ready to execute. The last stage of the day was a simple one: all from one position, 3 targets flanked by no-shoots, 6 rounds each with a reload in between each one. I took it for granted. When I stepped up to the line, I got the butterflies. I asked myself "why am I nervous?", and it dawned on me that I wasn't prepared. I tried in those brief moments while I made ready to get a plan, and it probably helped a little, but in the end I was fast....with several charlies and a no-shoot.
  14. Exactly. DVD sales/rentals for that movie have probably gone up sharply because of the popularity of these spoofs.
  15. I haven't yet decided on Production or Single Stack, but either way mine is going out tomorrow.
  16. What part of the state do you live in? There are 3 clubs I can think of that shoot USPSA here, and if you're close to PA or VA, add a few more.
  17. Very odd. At home it works fine. At work it looked like the old one. Oh well, thanks for the help.
  18. A little help with the link to this years match, please. I'm not able to find the "new" area 8 page that has the application and stages today. It was up last night. All I see today is the http://www.uspsa8.org/ that still shows 2009.
  19. I understand the reticle stays the same size, but that isn't what I was asking. What I meant was, because the reticle stays the same size regardless of magnification, that means the target size changes relative to the reticle. In other words, if you look at a target at 100 yards at 1x, the 10mph holdoff will represent a certain width downrange, for argument's sake lets say 3 feet. Crank it up to 4x, and doesn't that width change to something much smaller than 3 feet, since the target fills up more of the reticle? If this is correct, which magnification is the yardage and windage set for (I would assume 4x)?
