    Glock 21

New for this year, Glock is bringing out a new model 21 with a smaller frame. May want to wait until it hits the market and try it out before buying one. Should have a feel similar to the current line of small frame Glocks.
  2. I've pondered this a bunch since buying my Para last Feb. I think what I'm gonna do is sell it and buy an STI. The gun runs like a scalded dog, but I hadn't handled an STI prior to buying my Para. World of difference as far as I'm concerned. But then, nothing feels as good to me as a GLOCK!!
  3. I like .100 .90 is too small, and .125 is too big. I shoot a Para, so I don't have the option of .110
  4. You'll never go wrong with any of Dawson's products!! Especially the ICE magwell.
  5. Probably the powder(s). I've noticed that the stock adjustment on mine is very sensitive to changes in powder type.
  6. I have the Chrony F-1 and am not overly impressed. It is VERY light sensative, and in the time that I've had it it's failed about as many times as it's worked.
  7. I think folks would be a WHOLE lot happier if there were just more time for shooting!!
  8. I think I saw some posts that said in the 5-6 WEEK (instead of month!!!) timeframe.
  9. Can you elaborate for me? Not that Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet doesn't pretty well answer my question, but can you break it down just a bit? How is the function, fit, finish, and what can I expect for longevity (how many rounds should I be able to get out of one before needing to start replacing stuff? I've been told by those in the know that a good 1911 Open gun can last 100,000 rounds). Thanks!
  10. I'm really wanting to get into Open, and have been looking at the Open guns made by S & J Custom built on Glock frames. Anybody had any experience with them??
  11. Sorry KurtM, my EOTech is a 512. No NV I'm afraid. Thanks for the info. I have my EO listed on the USPSA classifieds. As soon as it moves, I think I'll go with a Trijicon.
  12. After shooting a buddy's AR hosting a Trijicon Reflex sight over the weekend, I think I'd like to have one. Would like to hear pro's and con's from those who've used them in a 3-gun setting. I currently have an EOTech, but am not crazy about the dot/circle reticle. Seems like a single dot (or even the triangle) may be better. The local club where I shoot 3-gun is limited to about 60 yrds. max. distance on rifle stages, and the gun I use is a Bushmaster Carbon 15 9mm carbine which pulls double duty for 3-gun action and Pistol Caliber Carbine side matches.
  13. I, too, am a 1911 shooter. But have no trouble at all switching back and forth with my Glock 34. If you're stuck on a 1911 design though, go with a Para LDA.
  14. IDPA SSP // USPSA Production : Glock 34 IDPA CDP // USPSA Single Stack : S&W 1911 IDPA ESP // USPSA Limited/L10: Para P-16 40 Limited IDPA SSR // USPSA Revolver: Ruger GP-100 IDPA BUG // Always with me in a front pocket: Seecamp .32 IDPA BUG // On me when when it aint too hot to wear a concealment garment: Kimber Ultra Carry II I am a gamer, in every sense of the word. But I do make it a point to practice regularly with my carry guns, as everyone should! Oh yeah, my GP-100 rides "shotgun" tucked between the seat of my truck, and for home protection I keep a Bushmaster Carbon 15 9mm carbine loaded with the first five Cor-Bon Pow-R-Ball, the rest of the mag holding 147 gr. Hydra-Shok.
  15. The gun this ammo is being used in is for an Open gun. The loads the current owners uses are a 135 Rainier on 10.1 of AA 7 with new Starline brass with an OAL of 1.185. My loads are 10.0 of HS-6, once fires sized on an EGW U die, same OAL.
  16. *********I'll be shooting in Tactical class
  17. I have a Colt H-Bar II postban rifle and want to buy/build a good Upper for 3-gun use. Looking for opinions as to what features I should use/look for (barrel length, comp. type, forend type, etc.) I've only competed in a couple of 3-gun matches so far at the local level. The only venue in my area that hosts 3-gun is a short range affair (50-60 yards max for rifle stages), and thus far I've done just fine using either a Beretta Storm or Bushmaster Carbon 15 9mm carbine. I'm looking to add an upper that will allow me to be competitive should I ever venture to a major 3-gun event where rifle stages extend to hundreds of yards. Thanks!
  18. -*- Yes, the U die is touching the shellplate. -*- And, the overall cartridge length is the same. I used one of his loaded rounds to set my seating die.
  19. Need some help from those in the know about these things............(I'm an OK shooter but a crappy gunsmith. Actually, as far as mechanical inclination goes, I'm a drooling retard.) I'm thinking about buying an STI from a fellow, and he was gracious enough to let me take it home and try it out before deciding on it. So I load up about 50 rounds to try out of it. Out of the 50, only about a dozen to fifteen actually functioned in the gun. Got a few stovepipes, but most were failures to feed ( feed properly that is. not nosedives, but going most of the way into the chamber and only lacking about 1/8th inch from going all the way). The ammo he sent with the gun that he had loaded worked fine. Here's where my question comes in (and PLEASE, don't just reply that I need to use the same load/components he does! I need input as to whether or not I may be able to get this thing to work in someway with my loads or if I should just let him keep the gun): His loads = new Starline brass My loads = oncefires resized by an EGW U die The reason I need possibilities as to what may be causing this is that I'm not willing to buy new Starline brass to be able to shoot the gun. My loads sized by the EGW die do, and have, run like a scalded dog since day-1 in my Para (and I get oncefires a damn sight cheaper than new Starline). Any ideas???.........
  20. I use Berry's 115 gr. RN's over 4.5 gr. of Titegroup for all of my current 9mm necessities. USPSA Production // IDPA SSP from a Glock 34 (great accuracy and function @ apprx. 1,187 fps for 137 PF). Same load in my Bushmaster Carbon 15 carbine for Pistol Cal. Carbine sidematches and Short Range 3-Gun rifle use (same load gives apprx. 1340 fps for a 154 PF). Even at these velocities, they seem to stay together pretty well. I've been using Berry's 180 gr. FP's over 4.7 gr. of Titegroup in my Para P-16 Limited for Limited/L10. Not quite as impressed with the .40 loads. Seem to get alot of keyholes and 25 yrd. groups run 3 to 4 inches.
