George
It depends a lot on the OAL you can run. If you can run out to 1.250" then you can use more powder options. I am running a 124gr JHP (.355" dia.) @ 1360 fps out of my Glock 17L (6" ported bbl) for major. I use 8.6gr WW 540 @ 1.135" OAL. The case is 9x21 but similar results should be gotten in 9x19. I am told that HS6 will substitute for 540 which is not available anymore. This is basically old P9 loading data from back when dinosaurs and singlestacks still roamed the range :-) If you can load out to 1.250" then more powder will be required, I am limited to 1.140" or under because of Glock magazine dimensions. Try Jeff Maas IPSC load list for 9x21 (Don't worry too much about his 9x19 vs 9x21 dislaimer because you will be using a properly set up gun). The main difference in 9x21 and 9x19 is that the 9x19 will probably generate a tad less pressure at the same loading length because of less case/bullet contact area allowing an easier bullet release. Here is the link to the 9x21 Mass load list PDF file http://home.columbus.rr.com/jmaass/documen...ents/hl9x21.pdf Regards,

Kingman
I remember 7 grains of AA no 5 making major with a 124 in 9 *21 Is there a reason no one is using that anymore. Should make major easy in 9*19 even with 115's. Just curious as I am builing a 9major gun now.

Yardbird
I seem to remember hearing that the AA powders were very abrasive. I don't know if that's the case and if that's why no one uses it but its a possibility.
warpspeed
sahauptman, what gun are looking to shoot 9 major in? I have a STI 5" Barsto barrel with the STI S-2 comp, no ports. I'm been playing with a varitey of 124/125 gr bullets over 7.3 gr of VV N350 with varing OAL from 1.160 to 1.190 with good success. Velocity all above 1330 fps with no pressure signs using WSR primers. I tried 3N38 and did not get the same accuracy as N350 load.
ErikW
Maybe because AA #5 has changed over the years.... Israel, Czech Republic... The Czech made #5 I tried to use sure didn't work with the load data supplied by the seller of my 9x21.
Kingman
Thanks for the repsonses. I was out for 10 years or so, until a couple months ago. I was just looking through my data on my 9*21 that I still have a couple hundred rounds loaded up. All I used on that was No 5.
