Low recoil slug source?

Anyone tried the WinLite rifled slugs? I'm just about out of my old stock of Federal and need a source.

TIA

Tom

I haven't tried the Winlites but I have been using the Federal Truball Low Recoil for several years and they always work in both my 1100 and SX2. I did try some cheap S&B loads and could not get them to function. With shotguns in 3 gun reliablity is key. I get mine at Midway because I can't find them locally.

They sound like the Rangers...

Rangers 1,200 fps too.. The Remington's are 1,200 too, the Federals are 1,300 fps.. The Remington's are 1,200 too

We've bought a few times from Ammo to go (link posted above) - about the cheapest we found mail-order. If you have to mail-order them. Get whatever's cheapest among those 3.

If you find someone that goes to the Reno show (and you do know a good number of them :) ) - that's the place to get them.. I think Arnold got the Rangers there for $109 last time?

FWIW - I chronoed the S&B slugs and they went just over 1300 fps from the 20" barrel of my 590A1. They worked fine, but then they depended on elbow grease rather than gas for function. ;)

Try the Fiocchi 12LESLUG's. 1oz, 1150, run in both Benelli's and an old 1100. With an IC choke they'll cloverleaf at 50 yards and shoot into 3" at 75. I haven't shot them at 100 but the few targets I've had to shoot in matches at 80 and 90 yards were no trouble to hit. They recoil like a 1 1/8 oz load of 7 1/2's.

The S&Bs would not function reliably in my Rem. 1100 Competition Master, but to be honest it was particular about many different loads, which is why I bought an FN SLP last week. I'm going to try the S&Bs in the FN this weekend. I hope it likes them better. Ironman is coming and I need all the slugs I can get!

Where do you get them?

Midway USA

Delivered to your door cheaper than a drive out to Wally World.

They also have the WinLite:

I get the Fiocchi slugs by the case from Debbie Cheek at matches. Midway is also a good source.

The last case I got had 7/8 oz slugs at 1300 by mistake. Finally got around to checking them for accuracy this afternoon and put 3 of them into 1 1/4" at 50 yards. Group was 2 1/2 inches higher than the 1oz. Recoil like a 1 1/8 oz heavy field load of birdshot.
