teaser pics of my STI

Here's some teaser pics of Kevin Greeleys' (http://www.greeleycustom.com/) work to my STIs slide and frame. I wanted it a lot lighter since I'm very used to much lighter Glocks and M&Ps in Production, I didn't want to go really crazy on the slide in fear of in not lasting very long. I asked for early 1911 lightening cuts at the muzzle, shorten the dust cover and mill the cocking serrations to flat spots and do the 'Fish Gill' cuts on the top edges of the slide. I can't wait to get this back and start shooting it. I think it looks great!

I just weighed everything:

slide is 11.9oz

barrel is 5.66oz

guide rod/recoil spring and plug is 2.03oz

slide stop is .31oz

frame is 17.32oz

for a total of 37.22oz :)

Is the slide weight bare, or is that with sights and everything attached?

That's the slides weight with sights, extractor, firing pin, stop and spring.

love the high power panels! very tastefully done all the way around. its hard to believe you can take a beautiful gun, and modify it to be even prettier! those slide notches are really cool. let me know when you want to sell it!

Pretty awsome, how much did he charge you ???

$250 and took less than a week. He went through the entire gun making sure everything was working correctly as well. My pistol is stainless so it didn't need refinishing. He was going to polish the grip and thumb safety but I told him not to and to just bead blast them and where he did the work.
