Procrastinated too long this year and Saturday filled up too quickly.

Next year though - Western States Single Stack Classic and the big dance Single Stack Classic (aka USPSA Single Stack Nationals), here I come.

:(

Today marks a sad day, I shot my last single stack match for the year :( :( . Actually, I'll be back in Dec. and maybe June if things work out. I go for my Engineering Fundamentals exam durning our next match and then I have Daddy duty :goof: while momma gets to shoot CAS through Nov. Boy I love that 3 year old and know that soon, he'll be shooting CAS and USPSA with us.

Z. It was a great hurah! I shot the Kimber Ultra Carry with "normal"mags (read 6 rounds)and did fairly well. I actually beat one of my friends on a stage with him shooting limited  . I even managed to take second place in SS today (yeah, there were 2 of us).

Has anyone here seen a good muzzle flash in front of them on a bright day? We were shooting Single Tap Standards and I swear that there was an Orange glow in front of the muzzle while I was prone!

Have a great rest of the weekend.

Merlin, ZHunter, Nemo, et. al.

After many days on the road, I finally made it home.

I finally managed to get myself, my 1911's and my camera in the same place and time.

Therefore, here is my official application to the Single Stack Elitist Snob Club.

If admitted, I promise to set a new standard for snobbery.

Seen pictured below from top to bottom are:

My black stainless Springfield 45.

I bought this gun within weeks of joining USPSA and shot L10 with it through my first year.

The next is a recently aquired Stainless Springer in 9mm.

This gun will be groomed for SS minor and possibly some carry.

The last is a keepsake.

It is a stock stainless Series 80 Colt.

It was given to me upon the passing of my brother-in-law, Dennis "Double D" Dickerson.

While I cannot claim participation in a SS match (yet), please note that the .45 has seen plenty of competition.

It won my class for me in L10 at my first ever major, the 2004 Nationals.

This was long before SS was even a provisional division.

Thus I humbly request that you take out Excalibur and indoctrinate me as a proud member of the Single Stack Elitist Snobs.

Tony

I am so pleased to accept this honor.

First I want to thank USPSA and the board of directors, my wife and family for standing behind.....

No wait,... wrong speech.

I was saving that one for something else.

ZH, you found your way home. :D:D:D

All kidding aside, I was in The Keys fishing for a few days, and well, enjoying the company of my new GF some too after my return. But back to work today, just landed in London, 12 days of work ahead!!!

Yep, that ultra light tackle can make it difficult to get the fish, or so I hear.

I was flyfishing, for Permit, but got blown out by a cold front with 30 knot winds and temps in the 50's. Ever tried to cast a flyline in 30 knot winds? It is not easy.

ZH, This is your birthday?

What a coincidence.

Today is my 35th wedding anniversary.

That's 35 years with the same woman.

As opposed to 35 women in the same year.

I guess we are opposite sides of a coin. :goof::goof::goof:

Anyway, happy birthday man.
