cpty1
Heard something recently about reduced or managed recoil slugs not being allowed in HM division at some matches. Are any slugs ok at CTI for HM?

cpty1
Reduced Recoil slugs are not permitted in HM Does anyone know what determines whether a slug is reduced or not? As long as the shell or box isn't advertised as or marked "reduced" or "managed" recoil, I suppose it's good to go? I've got some S&B Special 28 slugs I was gonna use. There's no reference anywhere to them being reduced or managed recoil. Are these ok for heavy metal? Edited July 23, 2008 by cpty1
ap3
Have a couple of questions since this is my first year to shoot the match: Where are the rules posted? Do we need slings for shotguns? Is the area such that a hand cart can be used, or do I need a backpack? Will squads assignment be posted before the match? any other helpful hits for a newbie to the match? cpty1
Mike replied that as long as the slugs are not marked low recoil or managed recoil, they are acceptable for HM use.

I can help you out a little bit. I am not sure about this year but in years past a sling was required for at least your rifle. I plan on bringing a sling for the rifle and shotgun just to be safe. Hand carts can be used and the terrain is conducive to wheeled carts. Rules..... Not sure if they were ever posted but if you stick to the USPSA multigun rules you should be good to go. Lastly the squading is taken care of at sign in. Hints... Stay hydrated and take your time and do not eat at the all you can eat buffet in Oxford. See you at the range. whiskey1
I'm just surprised it took everyone else so long to get moving today. I slept for a couple hours and got on the forum. I do understand that the report from Adventure Travel is up on the CPWSA website...Going there now.
00bullitt
The CPWSA adventure travel tab is funny as hell. I recommend everyone check it out for a laugh. And its so true. The RO's and Sponsors were awesome. Without them these matches would not be possible. Something tells me next year will have a bit different stage design to accomadate a schedule that allows completion in a day and a half or it may become a 3 day match.
