  1. "to pasture in another person's house"....love it! The only difference in p-14 and p-16 is barrel and breach face.
  2. Every auto shotgun I've delt with needed the extractor notch rounded to prevent an average (or worse) crimp from catching. AA's and their perfect crimps are not an issue, but normal aka Walmart shells need a little help. how much help - look at the step down on the rest of the chamber edge and match that on the extractor cut edge.
  3. Copy that. Cheryl got a new 1301 comp. First thing we did was run a box of 10z 1185 #9 thru it to see if I need to respring it. Runs fine.
  4. Thanks guys! Not really interested in the 'big butt' part of the grip. I'll find a used set of target grips and have at it. I think this will be a fun winter project and maybe come up with a one-of-a-kind.
  5. I saw these grips in a comp-tac holster ad in a recent Dillon Blue Press catalog. I've done all the google searches and can't find them. Anyone have a clue who makes them?
  6. We just started looking at the stages, scoring is time plus points, but 1 a/b or 2 anywhere. Not sure how we accrue points?
  7. William, you are a gentleman and a scholar....sorta. We would love to partake on the 30th, but are committed elsewhere. What are the planned match dates - montly or 5th Sats only. To be true to Mr Tapp, it was carbine with wild and/or wierd guns from local pawn shops, but the past has past as they say.
  8. Looking for a May 29, 5th Sunday match in the northern Georgia/Atlanta area.
  9. I'm hoping this means drive to the 3 stage section we'll be shooting that day, and use carts to move between those 3 bays?
  10. The rules are basically the same for this match as we are used to, except they haven't totally finalized HM yet. I've discovered the 3 Gun Nation Heavy Sport rules, and am having more fun with these rules than any other. Are you shooting HM for this match? Have any comments about HM rules?
  11. HM pump, 10 round pistol 2 hits, 308 20rd, 1 hit to neuter. That will be a fun go at it. Now, just got to get in.
  12. He-Man will be .308, .45, and pump as it should be. It does allow 1× optic on the rifle. What rule set for He-Man?
  13. Stage 6, potty stage. Abandon on empty barrel only? Can we shoot 1 gun from multiple windows?
  14. I have to shoot pistol sans corrected vision, and never know what my hits on paper are till I walk up to the target. For me, 1 hit anywhere on paper is a blessing. 3 Gun Nation club matches are a hoot!
  15. As I have been told, WE have enough to make HM iron. It's been a long, long time since I've seen 308's splashing in the lake.
  16. Never seen 6 1/2 for sale. Can I load half a tube of 6's and half a tube of 7.5's?
  17. When looking in the rules for largest shot size, I found a couple of items. 5.5.7 All rounds loaded in the shotgun prior to the start signal must be of the same configuration (i.e. wad, velocity, propelant, pellet weight, pellet size, length, etc.). Violations may be subject o Rule 10.6.1. So if you stack some different loads in your preload, it's a match DQ for unsportsmanlike. Appendix E1: Ammunition 17. The Match Director and/or the Range Master may restrict the ammuniton to be used to certain maximum shot sizes or certain types for reasons of safety. Any such requirement is to be advised prior to the match dates. I'm good to go with whatever, all the big match rules I looked at was #6 max, but I'll be bringing some #4's just in case.
  18. What's the largest birdshot allowed for this match?
  19. 1st is get in the match next week. We've got all summer to work out the details. many thanks for all your efforts for our sport.
  20. I'm going to be shooting heavy iron at all the matches that will allow me/us in the match.
  21. So, I've been getting ready to do HM for 2015, or now it's Heavy Sport. The pistol is the old heavy metal reliable .45 calibre. However, now it's double stack and base padded at 141mm. So we're doing 17 rounds of .45 in the Heavy Sport pistol. That's verrrrrry interesting!
