nhglyn
I will preface this by saying............yes, I have searched and read all the stuff I can find on this here at BE. I would simply like a 9mm load to use for just "shooting", not competition. What would be a good/economical powder to use with 115 gr Zeros and what do I start development at? Do I use small pistol primers? Thanks for the advice.

SLM
Hi. I'd try 3.4 grains of Solo 1000 for a nice soft, clean load.
Fireant
I don't load 115's, but my 125jhp load is 4.0 grains of VVN320 Ramshot competition works also.

Rem 700
My general practice load is 115 Zero fmj 4.5gr Titegroup, Winchester WSP primer to a length of 1.150. Works well in all the 9mms I have tried it in.

Loaded light enough, you may save a few bucks with plated bullets versus Zero jacketed bullets. Shucks, depending on the gun, cast lead bullets may work and save you a small fortune. gm iprod
Cheapest shooting I have ever done with 9mm was with a home cast 124gr Lead RN, 4.0gr Win 231 and whatever the cheapest primer available at the nearest gunshopn was. Shot slightly over 3" at 25Y, and it cycled fine in the old rattler CZ75 I had. The most accurate was 115gr Sierra, Titegroup or N320 and Federal Primers, same gun 1 1/4" at 25Y. The cheapest now (I don't cast for 9mm) is any good lead (don't start that thread again) plus whatever you can get as far as primers and powder is concerned. I like Titegroup and Federals. Reliable and usually available. I concocted this sheet for friends a few years ago I just updated it today for this thread. Cost of 9mm plinking not including brass. As you will be using up all the old crap laying around the house?? All prices below are from Grafs if you collect. I use them when I am in MO, USA, so it’s only a guide. But if you collect them all from one place you will save a heap of GAS.
