New revolver, okay, but the OPTIC on it is something I haven't seen before!? :

ABOUT THE VORTEX COMPDOT™

The rush of competitive shooting may bring us all together. But when you want an optic that sets you apart, depend on the COMPDOT™. Target to target. Stage to stage. It’s built tough as nails around a massive sight window that delivers greater peripheral vision and increasing speed for follow-up shots so you always come out on top.

  • 8MOA
  • Dot Color: Bright Red
  • Auto-Shutoff
  • Motion Activation
  • Battery: CR2032
  • Battery Life (@ Setting 6): 25,000 HRS

Looks like there's a 5 MOA too.

The Compdot has been out for a few months now. It looks like a pretty robust sight, but it's considerably higher cost than a Holosun 507 Comp and it uses the Delta Point footprint, two big negatives for me.

I'm seeing $399 for the "street price" at Shooters Connection?  That would look to be a non-starter vs $369 street for the Holosun 507 COMP.

Unless there's some extra feature I'm missing?

DPP pattern seems to go against the almost industry standard RMR.

Pretty sure the DPP pattern will fit on a 1911 slide directly. RMR pattern has to have an adapter plate. So, if the vortex works, it could be the go-to optic for  limited optics

Yes, DPPs will bolt straight onto Stacattos.  The cut also fits a plate that adapts to other wider footprints like RMR (and there's a thin DPP plate that has recoil lugs and a BUIS)

The reason RMR is "standard" in the competition world is the reliability of SROs versus everything else.

If it can mount directly on the 2011 stuff, that would be a good niche.  And they include the plate for the Glock crowd.

Regardless, nice to have options!  Hope they sell a bunch of them. 😃
