About a quart of Robitussin DM ought to prove interesting.....

Seriously, brandy or light rum. The stuff is so sweet and thick, there's no point in wasting the subtleties of good liquor, IMO.

I'll bet a nice presentation could be had by warming a small quantity of brandy, too, pouring on top carefully, and lighting.

There is no substitute for making it yourself!

Noel Nog:

10 Large eggs

2 1/4 cups granulated sugar

2 cups 1/2&1/2

2 cups heavy cream

1/4 tsp grated fresh nutmeg + some for garnish

1 tsp pure vanila extract

1/4 cup bourbon

1/4 cup brandy

6 large egg whites

In a large heavy bottomed saucepan, beat together the eggs and sugar. Stir in the half&half. Cook over low heat stirring constantly until the mixture is thick enough to coat a metal spoon with a thin film and reaches at least 160 degrees. Remove from the heat. Stir in the cream, nutmeg, vanila, bourbon, and brandy. Cool and refrigerate until you serve it.

Just before serving beat the egg whites in a large bowl with an electric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form and fold them in to the nog. Serve in cold mugs with a sprinkle of nutmeg.

Warning! It only makes about 4 good drinks so adjust accordingly.

Remember separate the egg yolks from the egg whites before beating together the eggs and sugar, otherwise you won't have the whites to fold in at the end. ;)

The 10 large eggs are separate ingredient. The 6 egg whites are in addition to!

This is Egg Nog and I have never seen Egg Nog in any of the "Eat Healthy" or any other healthfood publications. :P

Maybe it should have a warning label....like "Drinking more than 2 pitchers of this mixture may clog you completely" or "Don't be surprised if your body weight increases by 25 lbs. with regular use of this concoction"

By looking at your sig lines I can see we have some things in common. :P

We did the "nog" thing last evening. Out of a carton with Meyers Dark Rum. Pretty tasty for what it was. After the nog it was Cubra Libras... I had forgotten how dark liqu0rs affected you the next day. OHhooooo my head....
