bushytail man
I am getting a colt series 70 worked over. I want to a high grip. Whose beavertail gets the hand the highest? Anyone tried the Egw Jem? I have always used a Brown but hear they dare not as high as they used to be and. Thin metal.
triumphrider
Egw is ok Brown is my current favorite I hear stan chen has a new one that is supposed to be the "bees knees"... Any good smith and a "dremel" can get you where you want to be...assuming front strap is also undercut
OnVacation
I run the harrison design on my combat commander, and I like the height, but Triumph is spot on: final fit by the smith is the real story. A good 'smith can take the grip up quite a bit from stock by raising the floor of the beavertail.
zzt
The EGW GS has a LOT of extra meat on it. They make the JEM GS for Jem Guns. It requires much less blending. Stan's stuff requires a good bit of fitting, and his pricing is super high.
pjb45
Ed Brown.
alien_pickles
I have a CK beavertail grip plug that I like a lot. My grip is higher on that gun than any of the others, and I don't have to deal with that high grip not engaging the grip safety (small hand problems)

Its the Gunsmith that will make it a high grip. I like the EGW JEM style. Its a little wider than the Ed brown at the rear of the tail.
