Are internet online vendors fair in charging a "restocking fee"?


Are restocking fees fair?

Keep in mind that not all places in the world accept returns.  We are very fortunate in the USA, yet it's taken for granted.

That being said, as mentioned, its a free market - if its stated up front, then its fair.

I voted always fair. In talking with a major vendor to our games that customers can be horrible. They buy things, don’t like them, trash the packaging then want all their money back. Vendor then gets stuck with crap that can’t be sold again at retail. 
  They just made it a blanket policy instead of dealing with the hassles involved.

  Simply put they said they were not trying to make money by doing it. They were trying not to LOSE money by doing it
