  1. I think they're fair for more custom items that can still be resold but with extra time/effort.
  2. Mag extension weight may actually be detrimental being so far from bore axis.
  3. How can anyone tell how many reloads brass has had? Especially if you're picking it up from the outdoor range. If you're reloading you need to inspect every round. .40 is usually good to go until a split.
  4. Just got one of these myself. I'll report back after first use.
  5. The idea is to find a hundo that is slightly tighter than your barrel. Any rounds that hang up in the hundo are then hand checked in your barrel.
  6. Greetings from the Carolinas. It's a steep slope! Have fun.
  7. Welcome to the forum from Charlotte, NC.
  8. I began with a black scorpion belt and safariland pouches. Have both the years later.
  9. Eventually you will be able to shoot naked. Not even hot brass to the nuts will make you flinch.
  10. If you're not sure if you are blinking then you are. I got over my flinch by live firing regularly and throwing some practice rounds (or whole magazines) downrange while actively watching the slide reciprocate, the case fly, and the sights return to zero without much attention to the aim. Now I can regularly let the hammer slap on an empty mag, and an empty chamber without a budge. My 2 cents.
  11. Don't be afraid to say "I'm not sure how to do that, can you please explain?".
  12. Greetings from Charlotte. What 2011s are you shooting?
  13. Don't forget to work your grip! I found a thread on here about grippers and I picked up captains of crush T, 1, and 2.
  14. Hey, Rick. Welcome to the forum!
  15. Welcome to the forum. There's a ton of great info here. Be sure to use the search feature!
  16. Welcome to the forum. I started with an M&P 40L, solid gat. Good luck!
  17. On ranges that disallow holsters I've practiced with pistol at the low ready position and my support hand on my belly. Safety off, aim and acquire grip, fire x2, repeat. Helped with my sight picture acquisition speed, consistent grip, and double tap. Grab a target with multiple bullseyes and throw two at each for a bit of quick transition work.
  18. Thanks for passing along your experience. I will show your post to a new shooter who is going to start this year.
  19. I agree with the M&P crowd. Many backstraps to use as he grows and the Apex flat trigger is very smooth and affordable. It's what I started with.
