Why anti-roll trigger pins?

Recommended Posts

I have read many posts that state the use of anti-roll trigger/hammer pins. Could someone please educate me as to why this is important.

I get the fact that you don't want the pins to be sloppy loose or able to fall out but why anti-roll?

I thought the whole point of the fully captive pins was to stop the pins from rotating and causing your lower’s pin holes to become enlarged over time.
Also to keep them from walking out the side of the receiver

If you use anti-walk pins you can ditch the retaining spring inside of many hammers for a smoother, lighter trigger.   Some of the FCG's that require anti-walk pins do not have the required spring inside the hammer that holds a milspec grooved pin into place.

I think the issue is not rotating......hell, they don't rotate fast enough to wear anything out. Rather......on blow back actions, people don't realize that it is MUCH more violent than 223 gas and hammer pins tend to break in half where the J hook slot is. About the only way to get away from that is to run aftermarket pins normally called anti walk......but when you get them, make sure you get the pins with out the J hook groove....or they will break as well.

Yup.....some have never broke a hammer pin......awesome!!! good for you!!.....now go lay by your dish. But others have and others will.....getting an anti walk pin with out the J hook will help you
