jim m
What brand Micrometer bullet seating die do you prefer? Also I've seen some micrometers on Dillon 1050 powder measures. Can you buy these or are they home made? Are they worth it? Thanks in advance Jim
echotango
I use a Redding micro die. Either prairie dog or unitequetek for the powder micro.

moparnut88
I use a Redding on a dillion 1000 but had to recut the die cone bc it was leaving a ring on my coated bullets. Been like butter since though and super accurate!Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

SlvrDragon50
Redding is the most popular, but I recall someone here found it to actually not seat any more consistently than a standard die.
moparnut88
I cant tell any more consistent seating but I use it more for adjusting oal easier and it is pretty accurate.Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk Redding and I second the above. On my (now traded) 650 I was more concerned with OAL. As far as I can tell the Redding Micro dies are accurate enough for government work!

I also use Redding micrometer seating dies for both 9 mm and .38 Sp and they work very well. They may be no more "consistent" that a standard die because the die itself isn't the only source of length variability. However, once calibrated, they allow resetting the COL for a variety of bullet types and shapes quickly and make final length adjustments predictable.
