gerritm
Anyone change out the stock extractor for an Aftec. What spring combo did you use? Gerritm
Mikeski
I changed mine out a couple of weeks ago. I have one spring in the front, as this was someones recommendation. So far at the range no issues, but have not shot a match with it yet.
grantwoodok
I have an STI Grand Master. Not a lot different to your DVC. Changed to Aftec after stock extractor broke after 1000 rounds. 10,000 now with 0 extraction issues. I used both springs.

dons
I bought a used STI with an Aftec for SuperComp. Had to slightly modify it for 38 super (I know, obsolete) and used it with only the front spring for a while since it seemed tight with two springs. After about 500 rounds I had my first failure to extract. Put both springs in and haven't had a problem since, probably over 5000 rounds. BTW, it extracts everything, including SuperComp that inadvertently gets into my practice ammo.
gerritm
Sounds like 2 is the way to go. Gerritm
redfisher
is the Aftec set-up differently for 38 Super vs SC? Jeff
gerritm
Not sure. Made sure I ordered the one specific to 38 super. The stock one works pretty much all 3, 9mm, 38S, & 38SC.

JimF38sup
I change my GM 38 super to an Aftec 9/38SC super when it was new. At first it would only run with the rear spring after about 8k rounds I added the front spring. I just had to replace it due to wear on the hook at 15k rounds. New one working well with two springs. gerritm
Put the Aftec in with 2 spring and ran about 75 rounds thru it. Ran perfect no issues. Now will try it in a match. Used the paper clip trick to get it slipped by the ridge. Worked great. Thanks, gerritm
