Nemo
Ok people... My brother is bailing out of the Area 6 thus my 9mm production ammo won't be there. I'll shoot it with factory ammo, no problem. But what should it get to make 125+ at the chrono? WallyPacks 115gr? 147's? UMC, CCI...?
Azone41
Blazer should be ok
Bear23
WWB with 115 made 130 PF last i checked. I chronoed some a while back. 50 degrees that day. The 147 gr. stuff is a similar PF.
Precision40
My last batch of Blazers chrono'd at 135pf. Just perfect for Production. I've shot the WallyWorld 9mm's and they are quite a bit hotter than the Blazers, so I'd only use them if I were in a serious bind.
Crusher
The only factory ammo I am aware of that is close to NOT making PF out of shorter barrels (under 4.25") is PMC/115 gr. WW white box (wally world) 115 OK Magtech OK 115 gr/124 gr (the 124 is VERY accurate) Federal OK 115gr/147gr Remington 115gr/147 gr All of the above has been chronoed out of a box stock Hi-power and makes it 127-134 PF the PMC had below 125 (121-123 pf) about 50% from a box of 50. Qstick
WWB 115's made 132 out of a 4" Springfield XD last time i shot production.
Fireant
Nelson, WTF? production? What happened to your limited setup?
bobert1
The Independence Brand did not make 125 out of my 4" XD. WWB did.
Nemo
Thanx a bunch guys! A trip to WallyWorld should get me by. Fireant, I'll be shooting my G17 in an act of moral support to my boys. They'll be shooting limited with their 22's. So we'll be the Glocker Family! See you there!
Stuck in C
PMC 124 grain:130-132 pf consistently. I've never chronoed PMC 115 grain, I'm surprised it didn't make minor.
blackdragon
Our Armscor 124gr 9mm will make 130PF. Out of my 5" XD. Ivan
BerettaRacer
WallyWorld 115's always do the trick for me. The older stuff, over 6 mo ago, always did 128-129pf The "New Improved" actually chrono's a little higher, due to slightly heavier bullet weight, got into the 130's at Fla State two weeks ago. Thats thru a Beretta EII
Brian Gonsalves
On Monday I tried the following through a Glock 34. I don't remember what the PF was (I'm at work, numbers at home). But, they all made the PF easily. Winchester White Box 115 grain FMJ 124 grain FMJ 147 grain JHP I hope this helps. Brian
Fireant
Nelson, At least now you won't be kicking my butt like you do most matches. We'll see you there. Terry and I shoot all day Sat. so look out for us and say "hey"
tigerkf
I think you'd be safe with WWB 124 gr. I think they shoot softer then the 115 gr. The blazer brass 115gr, I chronoed, were awfully close to 125pf (out of a g34).
bobert1
Just got done checking my ammo for upcoming Matches. WWB 115 PF=134.7 Wolf 115 PF=137.7 NATO 124 PF=154.0 This out of my XD Service Model 4" barrel
Harmon
my glock 34 has a fast barrel, i get around 140 pf with the blazers and 145 with the win white box,. its hard for me to believe that factory 9 wont make minor the last load i tried was 4.0 grains titegroup and MG115 jhp. it shot at 1145 fps. 3.3 titegroup and a berrys 147 made 995 fps...both loads shoot great. the 147 grain load is cleaner however...
